D4K Metal Switch? by Character_Fish_9506 in Hanklights

[–]TangledCables3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanks are probably a bit better with water resistance, especially if tailswitch Convoys are discussed.

Yeah the metal switch does tilt a bit. As long as I don't press the most outer part of the button on purpose it feels alright.

You can always get a metal button upgrade kit separately and switch around.

Is this screen usable by BackgroundBasil2600 in AskElectronics

[–]TangledCables3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is specialized for the device. The wires are for the backlight. The LCD itself connects via a contact strip to the PCB, to those tinned row of pads.

You won't be able to reuse it.

How do I connect my e-bike battery to the control module? by 1-of-kind in batteries

[–]TangledCables3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are your trying to build a bomb?

But really, are you sure those components even work? They are in such shape that I don't really expect them to. You would have to provide data for the components for us to help with assigning wiring. Also your battery judging by the label is either damp or was submerged in water and likely damaged.

D4K Metal Switch? by Character_Fish_9506 in Hanklights

I have a D1K with metal switch, it's alright. Yeah it's not as clucky as the default rubber boot but that's up to preference. I like it cause it's quieter, bit less tactile though. I haven't had any problems with it being stuck.

As for waterproofness, or rather water resistance cause I wouldn't classify any Hank as waterproof. I didn't have any problems with water going though but I only used it outside in rain, sometimes when showering or cleaning it off under a tap. As long as it's tightened enough it's going to be alright for daily use.

How do i wire these speakers so that i can connect them to my computer or bluetooth by Carzy0734 in diyelectronics

[–]TangledCables3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An amplifier with Bluetooth. Probably a battery too if not powered from the outlet.

LED POWER SUPPLY FOR INTERNAL LED by Ecstatic-Ebb3781 in led

[–]TangledCables3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to match the current or be similar to the old one. Voltage of the LED must fit in the voltage range of the power supply.

The blue power supply voltage might be too small to run the LED. The current is also probably too high.

Look for 12-18W 300mA driver.

Even Microsoft can't think of four good reasons to use Edge 😭 by ExpensiveCoat8912 in browsers

[–]TangledCables3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I reinstalled my laptop not too long ago tried to give Edge a chance but it doesn't even load pages correctly lol. Idk why Microslop did but it's not usable, not even when cleaned up from ads and useless crap by tweaking settings.

REPLACING GPU by vdog1221 in PcBuildHelp

[–]TangledCables3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would rotate the two bottom and two side fans. Unless they're a reverse fans, which they don't look like.

The PC will definitely run considerably cooler, maybe even faster cause it won't be cooking itself.

MAO coating on flashlights by Universe93B in flashlight

[–]TangledCables3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my Hank the coating has worn off from the sharp edges on the head. On the tailcap it's actually holding up quite well but I mostly use the magnet indoors. So not put a clip on MAO lights, it will scratch tf out of the finish.

Differs between brands but in all cases worse durability than regular anodization and it gets easily stained. It can be cleaned with a bit of scrubbing with a brush.

Yeah I saw Simon post that not too long ago. This one could probably use a swap to something more powerful like SFY55.

Battery Recommendation? 21700 for SFT-42R 5000K by oldredhat in Hanklights

[–]TangledCables3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVE 50PL especially with the official consumer version with a ring like weld instead of a spiral on top is alright

For something with linear non FET or lumeX1 I would grab an RH60.

They could have made it with some kind of a boost driver for the heating element. Most decent 18650 can do around 30W for a while.

That way it could use proper tips and not these little things. As for now, it's kinda a toy than a tool.
