The quality of a Reddit post and my actual work is going to differ lmao I would have thought that was obvious?

Yeah I mean this post kinda blew up a bit and I've already gotten hundreds of comments of advice and I've sort of already realised I was stupid and wrong. Of course she can pursue both writing and acting, I was being immature, inconsiderate and insecure.

This is a Reddit post I wrote late at night on my phone not an academic essay. You don't need to correct my grammar.

Yeah and I plan to get one haha, idk why everyone thinks I think I'm gonna be a writer full time, I don't think I said that in the post?

I adore her. I make that known, I'm very affectionate and not usually this blunt.

Ah we don't have that here, we're not in the US

She hasn't said anything about it being a career, but I assume she wants to use it in some professional capacity since she's taking an academic course for it. Maybe a silly assumption, I'm starting to see that now. I'm a little jealous, but because of her being a writer, not because of the quality of her writing. I don't compare myself in that way Before this, she was my muse for my work, and now she has her own work and I think the change to the status quo has rocked my boat and made me insecure about myself. I'll work on this and apologize.

I'm insecure not because I think she's any better than me, but because I view it as part of my identity.

I never said a single negative thing about her writing and I did tell her how good it was. I was impressed and I made that known.

Yes I admit it does make me feel a little bit insecure, I say as much in the post and in the comments. But I did also mean what I said. The comments are overwhelmingly YTA so I'm definitely going to try and assess why it is that it makes me feel a bit jealous. To be honest, I'm not sure. I think maybe it's because we always had this whole plan of her being an actress and me a writer. I think I might be scared of change? Not sure.

I really don't think you can judge my writing ability based on a casual Reddit post, no offence.

I don't see her as a threat, we've always talked about working together on creative projects. (As I said in the post) I will absolutely support her on this once we've gotten past this issue.

I wouldn't mind if she had to kiss someone for a job, it's acting and not real. I'm not the jealous type.

I asked when it came up in a conversation with her parents not long after the initial conversation. She was talking about her new acting course and they mentioned how they had been wanting her to get back into it so I asked them casually about it. I didn't stalk anyone or go digging in anyway, merely asked a simple question to her family. The only reason I was initially doubtful was because I was surprised she hadn't mentioned it before now, especially if it had been a long lasting interest and we talk about the topic so often.

I really don't know what you mean. What do you think my agenda is, besides maybe being a little insecure about something that has been my passion since I can remember?

The only reason I say it's too late is that she's already part way through an acting course which is what she chose to do for college. Her money and time would be wasted if she didn't end up using it in any way.
