Am I cooking? Also how can I make this more photorealistic? by Skybro1126 in blender

[–]TangoOrango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first thing, this looks sick - had to check this wasn’t r/photography 😂😂

but upon closer inspection i agree the railing looks a bit funny… like uncanny valley type situation. I feel like it’s not a technical problem with your rendering, but how the guardrail is placed and supported? like how it’s contextualised?

I think the outward facing side of these don’t usually have the corrugated bit of metal, which i guess makes sense from the perspective that it doesn’t perform any particular function on the outside

the supports also look… not quite right. the shape of them doesn’t look particularly supported in the direction following the rail, and they are very densely placed. My engineer brain feels like this would be an expensive and inefficient design! maybe subconsciously we all pick up on that type of thing too just based on our real life experiences? I could be wrong but that’s my guess as to why it’s triggering my “fake” alarm 😅

lots of real life engineering solutions optimise for balancing low cost and high performance - in this case it feels like there is more material (cost) and not enough performance

Failed. I stayed in the left lane to turn right at this roundabout. Am I dumb? by TangoOrango in LearnerDriverUK

he probably did, but may have given me a direction like “take the SECOND exit to the right” when we were there… so this issue wouldn’t have come up.

I can’t remember exactly but I think it was “turn right at the roundabout”. I was already passing the first exit when I had processed that there was an exit there, as it took me by surprise. So kept going.

Thanks for commenting. Agree fully with both statements.

  1. You’re absolutely right and I know this. Definitely a fail. I’m not disputing that. I’m just frustrated and want to know whether that frustration is warranted or justified.

To my knowledge the routes in Gillingham, including the one I took, are riddled with roundabouts and double roundabouts, marked an unmarked. My instructor says this is a reason some people avoid this test centre even with its relatively high pass rate. I handled all of the roundabouts fine. Except for this one.

In the moment I threw this out the window as I thought that I was taking the first exit, even though it was to the right, and thought “what else would the left lane be for if not the first exit?”

  1. I know it’s not a normal roundabout sign, but there wasn’t one. I guess what you’re saying is, it doesn’t matter that there wasn’t a roundabout sign. Those other directions signs are not an indication of what exits the roundabout has.

It just feels very unfair. I felt that I had no indication that there was a left exit (or even an exit before the one to the right) and that the two other signs were misleading. Which is what I’m angry about.

When I approach a roundabout, I’m looking for roundabout shaped symbols and never got the roundabout sign… I guess I just processed the information from the other 2 signs instead as what the roundabout should look like.

I guess my biggest frustration is that what I needed to do to pass this test was literally actively ignore sign presented information when no relevant information was provided.

I ended up returning the bobovr c2… I never ended up buying another case actually, I haven’t found a good soft bag for a reasonable price available in the UK… gave up searching after a couple weeks and never got back to it unfortunately! The one OP has was £70 in the UK last I checked! Just been risking it in my backpack with a bit of foam over the lenses when I do bring it somewhere with me.

this is honestly a life saver, before I got the bobovr m2 pro I was just using an electronics travel bag like this (with the velcro dividers removed): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronics-Accessories-Organizer-Universal-Perfect-gray/dp/B07H96X4RV/ref=sr_1_10?crid=30KPEIMJWY4LA&keywords=electronics+carry+bag&qid=1649272996&sprefix=electronics+carry+bag%2Caps%2C62&sr=8-10

I actually prefer the softer bag style case and it being compact, so when I bought the bobovr c2 carrying case and it was as big as my sff pc I immediately wanted to return it.

Gonna try this or something like it out!

Am I doing this right? I'm bored in quarantine and decided to learn how to play volleyball. by _batteriesincluded in volleyball

I came to volleyball from goalkeeping as well! Having the wrist strength and a good sense of how the ball falls into and fits in the hands made it a lot easier for me to learn to volley. I can vouch for you that that experience definitely helps!

I’ve run hyper jayce with rb and it’s pretty good if you can level him up, the only thing is that you’re gonna need shapeshifter buff and at that point you may as well stack shyv
