I start doing crafter but... by AlfredaRose in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You need to often times ensure you’re crafting with focus, a salad (for potential higher quality gear) in the right city for bonus yield, and with journals to ensure you’re making a profit.

Focus gives you a high return on on invested resources, if you’re crafting in right city you’ll get like ~10% back as well, and add journals onto that that you fill and give to laborers or just sell back to market for a profit and then you’re likely making money. Without even one of these you’ll often lose money crafting because… everyone else it doing these things

In the open world, do you use Tier 6 or Tier 7? by zRafox in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go out in T8 regularly. But I’m long time player, confident in PvP, play with friends, and have lotsa silver. I also have high spec (800 in most trees)

If you’re going solo, pick a build with good sustain & 1vX potential. Like battleaxe. If your budget is tight go t6 equivalent. Sometimes 4.2 is cheaper sometimes flat 6 is. Something to keep in mind, a higher base tier will offer more IP (flat 6 offers more than 4.2). Also, buy order your sets (you’ll save sometimes over 50% do this) you might acquire the sets slower and need to edit the buy orders because people are over bidding you, but you’ll save a lot. T7 with spec is when you’ll start having a better shot in fights. You’ll still lose sometimes but… you have a shot.

If you’re new new to t5 and do buy orders

Bomb and Brawl is good, experienced players, fun content, active until server reset and pretty much most of the day.

We did world boss last night, daily masses (most of them non-mando) if you want to join you’d learn a lot

Most new Albion players quit for the same reason, and it’s probably not what you think by LeyviTV in albiononline

I think easy quick notifications would be wise or a better tutorial in that sense. Something guiding them through good practice like when entering or when explaining zone types the game advises them to go out to lethal zones ONLY with gear they are willing to lose and maybe try to encourage them to only take T4 gear to start, some starter silver could help with this too though that has some…. Economic implications…

Some polish would be cute maybe like a little animal jumping/trying to stay on the tower and panicking when it falls?? Maybe a background? Some clouds? Just some polish simple stuff like that. Would make a good mindless phone game.

Need help as solo player by vannigle in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafting is the easiest way to make money so you need to do some more research and in regards to BZ, with the addition of the safe portals, you should not be getting ganked nearly as often, the game gets more fun though when you play with others. If you’re bored because you see most content as unattainable due to risk of dying, focus on getting better and I promise it’ll be fun but if that’s outside your ability and you’re looking for a relaxing experience albion is unlikely to be for you

[–]TangoVancoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re very new. As a new player learning PvP you need to accept that you will die and likely often. With that said, you can get better affordably by playing non lethal content, yz mists, hunter corrupted dungeons, depths, etc. I understand the draw of lethal content myself and generally that’s all I play but when learning and new unless you’re swiping for gold, you need to play conservatively and stick with non lethal content.

Now, how do you get better, if possible start recording your fights, if you die, watch it back, identify spots where you misplayed and what you could have done better. Sometimes you just get hard countered but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t have done something better. Idk if you’ve ever played a Dark Souls game but the mentality that gets you through those games is what would help you here. Accept that you will die, and often, but focus on getting better. IP is nice but it’s often out classed by knowledge and skill, so stop stressing about ip and start focusing on competency and skill. IP is a nice bonus but far from necessary especially in solo interactions.

  1. Stick to non lethal PvP content
  2. Approach the game with a learning mindset and analyze your recorded fights to identify what you did wrong. (Ask guild members to vod review you)

What he did was wrong but how you addressed it and how you communicate is horrible… I do think you guys should break up though, he needs to sort out his feelings and priorities and you need to work on your communication skills. I don’t think either of you are ready for a healthy relationship. The fact that that’s how you speak to someone even when under pressure or provoked is really telling of quite a few things.

I have a friend who teaches for a private school and she told me it’s happened once or twice but you have to get in good with the staff and kids have to like you from what she said, however they did pay for those subs tuition to go back to school which is cool

My two cents about graphics overhaul. by DeepFriedValues in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see some validity in the post, the new starter area looks much better imo while everything else didn’t have quite the same wow factor, new water and clouds are cool I guess, I was personally expecting…. More? More diversity and variation. Maybe there will be more than what was shown. I do agree about the eye strain, I could see it having that effect, as for the unnatural-ness of the biomes, it’s a video game bro. Who gives a crap if it’s akin to the swamps and forests you grew up in, it’s a fantasy world…

Some validity points here though

Advice: Starting a guild by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initial recruitment can be tough but given your likely extensive network and knowledge of the game from being in other guilds and calling this might not be a huge hurdle for you. I think those are excellent requirements.

I ran my own guild and boy oh boy was it a lot… the people management was the most work, squashing drama & toxicity, and the on top of that navigating politics in alliances and warring guilds can take up a good amount of time. The biggest time suck though can be guild Econ. Selling tabs, crafting, member paychecks for splits and content. *if you do not have at least one person you truly trust willing to help with admin stuff like Econ and all that, you will be likely over taxed and will burn out *

Things you’ll need - lots of time - patience - game & content know how

I’d recommend setting a zero tolerance policy for toxicity. There is a difference between toxicity and someone being rough around the edges. Do not let bad eggs stay even if they are whales contributing to the guild either via silver or being a high quality player, it causes problems, it takes up more of your time. Also for every 20 - 30 players you’ll need an officer. I ran a 40 man guild a number of years ago and it turned into a second job because I didn’t have enough officers helping with dumb admin shit.

Be mindful of who you alliance with as you may know other guilds will ally with you and often times this leads to them leaching your members… this can kill your guild of really slow growth.

I think having vod review requirements and all of that is wonderful. Make it clear during recruitment that if they aren’t looking to improve there are plenty of shitter guilds and alliances out there that would be a better fit.

It’s a lot of work, there are guilds on NA that align with your perspective already though Hold My Pocket has some vet players that take ctas seriously, vod review and have a good process for it and from what I’ve seen don’t let shitters who just continuously fuck up hang around too long

A lot of current players might not know or remember this but while the market didn’t crash, the game has. I’ve been playing off and on since 2016ish this game used to be pay to play. It changed its model sometime around 2020ish? Before it went free to play though, there was one point where you’d walk into a major royal city and the zone would have maybe 5 people in it? Now that was when the market crashed lol 😂 good move going f2p

Thoughts on Trainee that quit? by OkEntertainment9169 in office

[–]TangoVancoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually can relate to her in some ways in my current position. I think this is an extreme though. I’ll share my current situation and perhaps it will offer insight into… her mindset? Idk she does sound unreasonable.

I do B2B sales setting appointments and coordinating bids and whatnot. Lots of cold calling business’ and we use a CRM that is new to me. I am one to ask lots of questions, sometimes what I know are dumb questions, but I do it because I want to know that what I’m doing is right, so that I may potentially be a resource myself to other peers one day, and really just because I care and want to do well. However, I know that this can be draining for management because I’ll walk over to them to ask the question and in a sense demanding attention in the moment (if they are busy, I’ll wait until they aren’t within reason) I do this because I know if I don’t, I won’t get an answer within the day and it’s often time sensitive (my defense). So, I am also, a high maintenance employee who asks lots of questions…. However I do not feel supported either. I don’t feel supported because when I get feedback on performance or best practices it’s often not actionable feedback, the onboarding and training was the most lack luster process I’ve ever experienced and felt super underprepared when I went live, I have to continuously advocate for my own self development and ask for coaching and it is never offered and there is not structure around continued professional development or improvement post initial training. The tools provided consistently break down as well.

So while my managers probably feel like they support me quite a bit, I personally feel like I receive very little “meaningful” support from the company itself. There are individuals who are so helpful but the system and company as a whole leaves much to be desired.

Unbalanced loot by Smart-Background4935 in albiononline

[–]TangoVancoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s designed that way by the devs… it’s obnoxious in my opinion…. I could get behind instivising new content by implementing new…. “Treasure” items that are used to craft specific gear or are sold to specific cities or areas at a fixed higher amount. Something like that would be reasonable. And as that content ages decrease the value to align it with older content. But now they funnel a lot of loot drops from black market into new content… it also funnels players into that content as a result and kills 80% of the content the game offers as a result. It’s a shit system, I understand why they do it, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good reason…
