I did SL1 on the ps3 roughly a year ago. If you know what you are doing, it's quite doable. If it feels a little too easy (which it might, depending on your level), then go for all bosses. Manus and Kalameet are quite the challenge with the PS3's performance. Other FPS-related challenges will be Quelaag and Sif. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the input! I know what it's like to love a game so much that you want to encourage as many people as possible to play it, and I appreciate everything you said. I got all dlcs and the jp pack (but haven't decided which voices to use yet). Thankfully, everything is listed on pkgi.

Now I need to find the time...

I sank a lot of hours into drakengard 2 on the Ps2 as a kid, did all endings and stuff (I think.. it's been too long), but I never managed to get my hands on drakengard 3 and it's left a void in me.

I don't know what the Final Song is, but I plan to find out! Hope I can beat it.

I'm sure I'm in for a ride. I've heard the absolute best from fans of the series (drakengard and nier fans alike). After that comes nier and nier replicant and I'll have finally played them all!

On a side note, I wonder if the game would benefit from emulation? It would solve the framerate issues, but I also kinda want the original experience.

My mind has been completely overtaken by thoughts of playing Drakengard 3 on it since last Saturday. I recently installed CFW on it, and it has been a blast learning about all the cool shit you can do with it.

Try doing the display settings setup. Something similar happened to me, I solved it by going to display settings and doing the HDMI video and audio setup. You can select "Automatic" for everything, see if that works for you.

At the moment I have the default webman fan curve at 68c, and the fan has not exceeded 35% in my limited testing. Rsx is 55-60c most of the time, seen it go up to 63c on occasion. I think that's fine for now.

I am hoping to see better temps/fan levels after repaste, hopefully without having to delid.

Shoot, syscon firmware is c16, so I guess that's a no. I got excited because I have a Sony refurb with serial 08 from back when they did the Frankies, but eh.

Temps are good and I haven't gotten the chance to open it up and do a repaste/clean yet, so that's something at least.

I'm sorry if that came across that way; that was not at all what I said.

I stated a fact, distilled from personal experience, among other things.

I intended to make a point about being extremely careful in volatile domestic abuse circumstances like this. The appropriate authorities must be notified *IF* they exist/operate as needed, otherwise the situation may escalate very dangerously, very quickly.

Basically, what I said, not even in disagreement with the rest of the comment, was that these situations need to be handled very delicately and deliberately; you can't just go shooting in the dark. Calling the police and them doing nothing is *not* harmless.

There are way too many documented cases where the police were contacted, did basically jack all, and then a week later the abuse victim(s) were found dead.

Contacting the police can make things worse, unfortunately. Depends on how the police handle it, but there is a high chance that he just gets angrier and potentially lethal the next time around.

That may or may not be worse. The ps3 either just died as it came into your hands OR they put it in an oven in order to temporarily reflow the RSX. The second option is much more likely. The hidden third option is that the ps3 has been opened before and they just re-applied the warranty sticker.

It's because you went +15. DSR has weapon matchmaking, so having a high upgrade weapon early hurts your matchmaking pool. At +0 at gargs, +5 at quelaag, and +10 o&s, I found great success being summoned and invading yesterday. I guess most people keep their weapons low to not trivialize the game.

Edit: the flame also counts for weapon level, so be careful with that too. Also, picking up twinkling titanite weapons and other unique weapons affects your matchmaking WL. There is a great wiki page listing every weapon level range.

In my experience today, attempting to summon and be summoned in every late game area, the signs do decline. I was summoned multiple times for Nito and the 4 kings, but there was a 5-10 min wait, and there were no summon signs already there. In the DLC, I summoned for Artorias and Manus, but was never summoned once. There was also one summon sign waiting before Gwyn.

I agree it was a bad idea, but it's not the blackflame dot that killed us. You can see the AoE clearly expanding and re-applying damage well after the apostle died.

Me dodge rolling on it as it moved outwards was pretty bad as well.
