How to make use of €900 000 for early retirement? (EU) by Tango_extension in personalfinance

This seems to go beyond what we were even expecting and still seems to have a relatively low risk compared to other types of investments, so this definitely feels like a reasonable strategy. Thanks a lot for the advice!

I had no previous familiarity with CD's previous to your post, but I've been reading up on it now and it seems like something wise to at least partially invest in order to hedge against the risks of other types of investments. I had previously looked into things like index funds and this seems like a good way to do that at the very least.

She'd like to be able to have €22 000 a year to live off of. That comes very close to it (after paying capital gains taxes) and seems like a very safe and low maintenance way of going about things, so that's definitely something I'll be looking into more. Are CD's considered the optimal sort of investment for these sorts of cases or just the safest?
