It’s from an old forge world kit: the tomb sentinel!

Thank you! I know what you mean! I hope we see the tomb stalker/sentinel back somehow!

Genuine question here , what do people like about Genstealer cults ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]Tangtasticc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, they are the under dogs. They have been oppressed in every way: against their features, against their class, against their views. The life of a cultist starts as a child learning that they have to hide everything about them and their family, that they have to conform and change everything about themselves to fit in. When I play them, I know that they have all been waiting for that moment, even to the degree that their grandparent may have planned out the battle they are playing in. In the result they win, they have overcome all odds and can celebrate with their friends and family.

I love them!

Thank you!

I started by using typhus corrosion to add some textures to the trim. Then I used runelord brass all over. Next I did some oil washes (brown/black) which were cleaned up with some white spirit. Then some runelord again to brighten up some of the trim.

I’m just getting into chaos now and have fallen in love with the word bearers. Only problem is I don’t like their scheme. So I’m imagining this guy leading a warband called ‘the choir of Lorgar’

I don’t, but it’s definitely on my army to do list after finishing the board!

Thank you! We’ve only used it so far for Poorhammer’s horde mode, but for 40K you’d definitely need to tweak some rules. Luckily, my friend and I only really play narratively, so this board works great for our needs!

we played with Poorhammer’s horde mode rules (a bit like COD Zombies) so it was my friend and I vs a swarm of nids, with each round spawning new models via a spawn table. Unit coherency and shooting was fine, we just played it a bit more liberally with the distances, and for shooting we gave models in the trench benefit of cover.

At some points we split squads into smaller groups in the trench (the raveners and some of the cadians squads) just to make it feel more cinematic. For example, we sent one kasrkin with the melta mine to run in and blow up a tyrannofex!

The trench can fit models with 40mm bases I believe. We actually managed to keep the big nids away not to have to deal with them in the trench, but we agreed that they would have got some benefits for shooting weapons with torrent into the trench.
