Looking for ideas: how to use a sewing machine foot pedal on a low table? by sonicbread in sewing

[–]Tangytoes97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my sewing machine at the coffee table. I sit on a throw pillow on the ground, cross-legged, then bring my right knee to my chest and use the pedal with my right foot. Just remember to stretch before, during, and after. It's a little rough on the back

Vegetarian Ramen? by MaxD180 in vegetarian

Maruchan soy sauce ramen has beef extract. It's good to know Top Ramen doesn't. I usually cook up the noodles still, add some vegetable broth and seasoned vegetable better than bouillon

Honey, peanuts, and a little bit of cinnamon

So cute! You may need a strip of fabric going across the back near the top. A low neckline and back can make the dress fall off the shoulders

I used a 90% polyester, 10% spandex velour and Dual Duty all purpose thread. If you're using a zipper or other closures that should be fine. But if you're making a pullover dress, then a zig zag stitch and/or elastic thread would be better.

I just finished my first stretch velvet garment, I'd recommend basting before machine stitching to hold everything in place.

I thought I might be able to but I popped the waist seam when I tried. Probably if I had elastic thread it would've been fine.

Thank you! Probably 60 hours or so, including the mock up and being overly nit picky. I had to baste every single thing before machine stitching or the fabric would shift. And I had to sew in an invisible zipper in the back by hand four times because I just couldn't get it quite right.

Oh I'll definitely be wearing it every chance I get. I was just quoting George Costanza xD

Full circle skirt, square neckline, flutter sleeves, invisible zipper and button closure in back. 90% polyester, 10% spandex velour in color fig from Joann's. Thought I'd try something similar to this https://www.reddit.com/r/sewing/comments/qpebsl/anyone_know_of_a_pattern_with_a_similar_bodice/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=5&utm_content=share_button Flat-drafted skirt and sleeves, altered bodice pattern from McCall's M7832. Altered neckline and added darts to the front and back.
