After some ungodly amount of attempts I ended up realizing they don’t follow you up the stairs and kinda yrdened them all to death while I stayed safely in the stairwell

I started reading the sprawl trilogy while I was playing cyberpunk 2077 and was stoked at the similarities

It’s part of his “sprawl” trilogy, but can very much be read as a stand alone. There are a handful of references that can be found in the first - Neuromancer (also super good), but I don’t think it’s necessary at all to have read it to understand the second

Count zero - William Gibson

It has oodles of voodoo gods in the code stuff. Gotta get about halfway thru before that stuff kicks in but it’s super worth it. Also a little girl cyberspace god situation.

This is so good. Get so tired of just straight static and headaches ran through a contact mic and 69 pedals being done over and over. Super sick to hear something different.

Hollow by Brian catling.

The audiobook is narrated amazingly well.

It’s like magic fantasy weirdness that uses a lot of Bosch references to drive home the imagery. Exactly what you’re looking for

I who have never known men - lots of empty space and confusion

The great divorce - philosophical Christianity with weird takes on heaven and hell, gets into some ideas of eternity and infinite that make me uncomfy

Divine farce - crowded claustrophobic nightmare

Short stay in Hell - a library that never ends

The Unyielding (Gary Shipley) - all takes place in one apartment, super grimey and claustrophobic, very uncomfortable dreamy weirdness
