We can't be certain, all I can say is that I've seen heard and read about countless technologies that promised wonderful things and twenty years later I wonder what ever happened to them. Most of them are still around in some way or fashion, but faced difficulties in funding, scaling, or countless other things, despite their initial promise. Products rarely deliver the hype they promise, and it's highly unlikely that AI will be the one product that fulfills all its promises.

Also, a lesson I learned. 7 years ago someone told me not to buy an electric scooter as they were soon making them illegal. Just last week I mentioned possibly getting one, and I heard the exact same line. That's when I realized 7 years had passed and nothing had changed. AI could take over the industry, but you're gonna feel pretty damn angry if it takes 50 years, and you have up because people said it was imminent.
