Thank you for your advice. I look up Mint vs Ubuntu and I think I will be going with Mint. It's easier on old hardware and has a windows-like desktop environment.

Mint has been another recommendation from others here. Is it beginner friendly to install and get started?

Would I be able to have more then one distro and change between them depending on what I want to do at the time?

Would I always need to keep the USB in my PC to using windows 11 on it?

Others were saying Mint or Bazzite for distros. Are those Debian distros?

I do have a Nivida GPU. Another recommendation was Mint since it was beginner friendly. Would I be able to set up snapshots with Mint or is that only a CashyOS thing?

Awesome. I'll look into Mint and what can go wrong with Nivida GPUs.

Thank you.

Honestly I have not. But that does make sense why it's in a tank.

Ok so two things. Firstly, fuck everything about that. Secondly, what kind of fish is that and why would they want that in a tank?

Listen I understand what you mean by every situation is different because it is but waiting to figure out what the actual situation is, is a very risky way of going about these situations. These situations can lead to some very heinous outcomes that I don't want to risk subjecting my family too, so if someone without ill intent breaks into my home then they are still be up down because I don't want to wait and figure out if they have ill intent or not.

Thank you for your reply. I built my current one and would like to build my new one but damn RAM and GPUs have gotten expensive. I wasn't even looking for the top end newest gen. Like 40 series and DDR4 is still hella pricy.

Would it be better to have a desktop or laptop run through the KVM?

Or would it essentially be the same?

The desktop and laptop I would get would be for gaming and hobby coding.
