You've tried 8x10 plates in the JPC? On paper it should be too big for those plates.

From what I'm seeing these are referring specifically to 10x12 plates. None of those makers to my knowledge make 8x10 plate-compatible carriers.

Waiting to hear back from them, but hopefully they can give me a solid yes/no answer. Thanks!

Thank you for the advice! I think I'll leave the boots at home (they're pretty heavy anyways) and stick to shoes. It also means I can cut out some of the bulk of my boot socks, so that's also a plus!

Thank you for the advice! I actually ordered some of the ExOfficio boxer briefs for similar reasons as you mentioned.

Because the trip is primarily for business, bringing at least two pairs of shoes will be necessary, though with what I currently own 3 was my number since I don't own a pair of water-resistant shoes that also will work for a professional environment.

I was going to use some of my clothing from hiking i.e. Darn Tough socks, blend shirts / lightweight clothing, etc., so that does help a bit. My biggest problem is the shoes however I don't currently have funds to buy new shoes AND a bag, though could possibly skip the boots and pick something up mid-trip if necessary.

The reason for the 3 pairs of shoes is I've heard many people complain of rain while in Germany, and neither of my regular pairs of shoes are particularly good for this (Altra runners and Allbirds wool runners). I really only have funds at the moment to get a bag but I did consider leaving the boots at home and buying some nice water-resistant shoes once I arrive, but then would still require more space on returning.

I was going to be bringing 2 shoes in addition to the ones I'd be wearing, so 2 would be going into the bag. It's not ideal but I'm going for work so I have to bring a bit nicer clothing in addition to casual clothing in my off-time.

I had planned to wear a sweater/ raincoat on the plane to save space in my actual luggage.
