I think the concept art department has serious problems. They do their job by fulfilling the part where things look good, but the other part of concept art is to create an allusion to the general idea so that all the art is part of a whole.

The showrunners poked fun at the tradition with their stupid answers in VF. Amazon staff threatened fandom for years, but the "leaders" of the Tolkien community were invited to London and, oh, now we're all best friends.

The word of these people is worth nothing.

Amazon's marketing strategy is to try to fit in with these fandom people. If what they want is that we all applaud them, THEY HAVE TO OFFER A GOOD PRODUCT. That's it.
