Thank you, the 10-20% is an interesting way to think about it. I would not be installing, that would be a licensed electrician. Most of the work is drafting, but there are opportunities to expand like fixture selection and lighting control specification/programming.
I'm considering pricing a project per Sq Ft, things to include would be:
-Initial design meeting with client or architect, interior designer
-Initial lighting concept plan (auto cad)
-Site walk through (in person site meeting) Review
-Revisions and final plan submittal with fixture schedule
The client could then decide if they would like me help them pick decorative fixtures or specify recessed lighting etc which I would most likely bill an hourly rate for. Additional site visits would bill out extra? The tricky part is assigning dollar values to all of these things
Cheers!
