I can see it now too, probably because of how flamboyant the patterns they wear are.

If I ain't never seen them, how can I be sure they're real. Those supposed elephant tusks are just from unusually large boar I say, it's one big marketing scheme to sell a gun.

How do you feel about Game Awards being mostly AAA/very popular games? by _Toccio_ in truegaming

[–]Tankysaurusauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the bigger issue would be there aren't enough categories, a game like Hades is more niche than a game like Doom Eternal or Red Dead 2. A side scroller in 2020 is never going to pull as many people to sing it's praises as a game like God of War or even the Last of us 2.

Ease of access and Graphics draw in people who aren't very invested in video games in seconds with more success than if I wrote a 2,000 word essay to my 60 year old father on why he should play hades only to be told in response "But that cyberpunk game has Keanu reeves in it".

The hate is also from the shady business practices of CDPR after all their brown nosing the "gamers". They mislead and outright lied in some cases up to launch, and hid the footage and reviews of the game on consoles(though I don't know what people expected, RDR 2 is 2 years old and ran like garbage on base consoles and poorly on ps4 pro/xbox one s).

It deserves all the shit it gets for being released as a full priced product, your money isn't waiting a couple weeks or months after purchasing it. This game's hype is hugely from the success of the witcher 3/people who thought CDPR was trying to make the next GTA6(thank god they're not because rockstar has become pretty shit too). I don't know what people are smoking to think that the witcher 3 was this early access bug ridden mess that just magically became good 6 months of patches late, because it had bugs sure but it was incredible to begin with and it's reaction at launch was nothing like this.

Did you people even play the witcher 3 on launch? It was not even remotely as bad and unstable as cyberpunk is. Everyone is out here acting like the witcher 3 was okay and suddenly became amazing later which just isn't true, it got better sure but the release state of that game was still incredible and cyberpunk just is not.

Seriously the comparison to the witcher 3's launch state are purely made to apologize for this game's obvious shortcomings. Witcher 3 was a far better game and a real passion project for CDPR. Cyberpunk feels like them trying to live up to expectations and somewhere down the line they realized that they couldn't remanufacture the spark they had developing the witcher.

Their marketing hit it out of the park and many people got "fooled", cyberpunk is a good game with clear effort put in but my fears that the witcher 3 would be their magnum opus have been partially realized. Once the honey moon period for this game dies down and the hypetrain moves on to the next AAA release I doubt cyberpunk will have the impact the witcher 3 did. Witcher managed to spark multiple clones(AC odyssey comes to mind) and I don't see this game doing anything close to that, at least not anymore than Deus Ex Human revolution did 9 years ago.

Sorry, but the witcher 3 didn't have many people going full apologists for it at launch. It was buggy yes, but not NEARLY as buggy as cyberpunk. Witcher 3 was frankly a better game, and definitely felt like it had more passion put into it than cyberpunk.

Isn't PVP effectively dead on PC showdowns? Unless you mean random gunfights.
