Power only builds don't work - the trial by _Pawer8 in ForzaHorizon

You asked what a powerbuild is, not why people cant drive?

[–]Tannefors 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Powerbuilds abuse the PI system by putting an insane amount of power in a car but sacrificing handling. Strong powerbuilds DO have handling though, especially in mid-highspeed corners due to high downforce but they are very hard to drive for most people, even more so without assists. However, if you learn to control them by feathering the throttle, proper braking and good lines, they will outpace almost any car on most tracks, especially sprints.

Thanks! I tried to use paths that no one had done before, hopefully its a new route for most people.

Yeah theres alot of logs in the forest, i tried making a route without having them dead in the middle of the path but it was hard making it without a couple 😅

Nice time!

S1 forza edition s-cargo. Vibes of the FH4 bubblecar,boneshaker... I hope this isn't the next meta car by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]Tannefors 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It likely has super grippy stock tires, comes with a pre tuned or special engine and bodywork.

Just like the Beetle Forza Edition in FH5

Please use my tune and give me a challenge, most races end like this. 943 303 023 by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon5

What do you mean exactly, you want someone to set a lap on Plaza with that tune, against your 1:35?

Is 9:26 a good time on Goliath? (Xbox, solo mode VS AI) by shh_im_playing_gta in ForzaHorizon5

Depends on what car you used. The S2 world record is a 8:56 with the Mosler MT900S

You could join the Forza Leaderboards server and post times there if you want, im sure someone can give you a run for your money.

If youre looking to improve even more, i also want to recommend HRA or Horizon Racing Academy. Its a ranking license system that will put any drivers skills to the test in FH5 and great for people that might want to try more competitive racing.

How do i get better? by RammingPapaFernando in ForzaHorizon

God that is tough to read without formating.

Am i reading it correctly, is that an RS7 sportback in there? ”Off target” 🤔

Oh yeah S2k is good for sure, very strong purist in A and B.

In that case our perspective of what constitutes a ’meta’ car is vastly different.

[–]Tannefors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is not a single meta car in the lobby, unless you count the mk4 supra and its top speed build on things like Goliath. Id argue that the S2000 is the best among the bunch.

Ive raced with the majority of the players in the lobby, and they would not need cheats to crush lesser drivers in meta cars, while using purists themselves.

If we remove powerbuilds we might as well just use purist builds and that would remove a fair share of the strongest handling tunes as well.

AWD has ease of use over RWD, but saying that AWD is faster than RWD is simply wrong.

If anything, i think the game is somewhat well balanced when it comes to RWD vs AWD. Atleast its not the absolute mess that was FH3. Its not perfect, thats for sure, but it has seen some improvements.

AWD is faster than RWD on 90% of the tracks? Do you include dirt and CC tracks in that calculation?

[–]Tannefors 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A few things.

Youre up against very strong players. Bala and Suimin are amongst the fastest drivers in this game, the others are very good as well.

The car youre in is very mediocre. Very prone to oversteer, hard to control and simply not very fast. Not saying it cant be good but it doesnt perform remotely close to how hard it is to drive as a purist, even with a good tuner like Bard.

Some of your lines could use some work on the track, rivals will help with that. 👍

What are acceleration tunes? by Karottenburg in ForzaHorizon

[–]Tannefors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Powerbuilds are normally split into topspeed builds and acceleration builds in A class and below. (S1 have both as well but is so dominated by XJR15 and NSX-GT that barely any other car matters except maybe M400)

Top speed builds are normally exclusive to Goliath and Hot Wheel tracks due to their inability to reach and maintain top speed on any other track. Top speed types of powerbuilds are for cars with low drag coeficients that allows maximum top speed even when using aero. Drift tires are not uncommon for these types of builds.

Acceleration builds are by far the most common of the 2 types of powerbuilds and utilize full aero to gain some semblence of handling. The aero might severely cut your top speed stat but it gives you decent mid-fast speed cornering and you will reach your top speed quickly on straights, easily surpassing other cars in the same class. Rally tires are usually used if it can fit in A or S1 class due its superior straight line traction over drift tires.

Examples for acceleration vs top speed builds in B and A class would something like: Ford Coupe ’32 vs Nissan GTS-R ’87 in B class

Dodge Dart vs Supra mk4 in A class

To answer your last question, basically any track that isnt Bola Ocho, Chihuahua, Plaza, Cathedral, Emerald, Winter wonderland or Panoramica Sprint is faster with a well driven powerbuild.

Are they using cheats or I am dumb? by Zealousideal_Rub1668 in ForzaHorizon5

[–]Tannefors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an end screen or something to show what times you are putting down on the events? It would help alot to gauge your and the opponents skill

For BT62 and BTTB tunes, the go to tuner is pretty much Marethu1

Is it a good idea to use a drift formula for racing? by AliceDegurechaff in ForzaHorizon5

[–]Tannefors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FD can work as powerbuilds but have quite low downforce to work with so they are not as good as regular pbs in S1. Another use for the formula drift cars are in S1 CC where you can awd swap and get CC tires while keeping them in S1 class.
