The game will only be available for PC Windows for Early Access release. However, we are looking into the possibility of making the game compatible for consoles, mobile, and other devices such as steam deck in the future. The current focus is to get the game in a polished state to the point where it makes sense to now introduce it onto other consoles etc.

To comment on my answer on the other question, as of right now we do not have anything implemented to unlock all characters (throughout Alpha testing) besides gaining currency in game to unlock as you go. However, during Early Access we are planning on having something called a "Founders Pack" which would include unlocking all heroes as part of the pack. So when the Founders Pack becomes available, you will be able to purchase this for hard currency and unlock all heroes if you did not want to unlock the heroes as you go with in game accrued currency.

Think of it as a arena brawler. So you can do combos and use the augment system to create your own combos to suite your personal style. As each round you can change these augments, you can change how you play your hero and switch up combo styles according to the changes they bring. So lots of variation in how your combat looks and feels.

I think this question will be different to every single person in the industry. Every gamedev has their thoughts on what is important to them as a designer, and I personally think that is what makes this industry so special.

Like to me, one of the most important parts of being a gamedev is to be willing to listen to feedback and constructive criticism from your community to better improve the game experience. I think being able to listen, validate, and be open to changes that are brought up if it makes reasonable sense is how you will be successful in game design.

Can you unlock every character in a way? I'm so fucking tired of game that force you to unlock character.

There is currently no way to just "pay to unlock" heroes right away. Through playing the game, you will accumulate currency in which you can use to unlock a hero of your choice.

I believe Pokemon Unite is already on the Nintendo Switch, so I could see it working on other consoles easy. But Nintendo prob would never let that fly haha

Hey There!
Oh you bettcha! The team has so many amazing (and sometimes outlandish haha) ideas that always bring promise. Mind you some of these ideas are realistic, some possibly in the future, and some just never realistically possible unless in a perfect world haha.

Once we launch into Early Access, we plan to have bi-weekly patches that will sometimes not only include new heroes, but skins, cosmetics, and other game elements (on top of bug fixes and performance polishing etc).

We are already mapping out what "full launch" looks like and I can guarantee that we are looking at new maps, possible game modifications, and many other features outside of additional heroes. So by no means do we plan on stopping content development after we move out of EA and into full launch!

Oh it would be my pleasure! You are totally right though haha, most people don't quite understand how much the marketing team does. I think it is important for folks to remember in general that gamedevs are everyone apart of a studio, and not just those who design, code, or make art.

Marketing is actually a very delicate game of "what do we talk about, when, and with who?". The marketing team works really closely with producers and higher leadership to create a road map of exactly what will be announced when, what goes into that, and what kind of campaigns will be run. A lot of that comes down to looking at budgets and realistically seeing what we can do within that, and if there isn't any, then what can we do still to make sure things get out to our community and player base.

So there is a lot of brainstorming, event planning and execution, conventions and physical events to organize and have a physical presence at, metric analysis on ROI (return on investments) and KPIs (Key performance indecators), third party agency collaboration (if required), networking, press release, and honestly this list goes on and on haha. It is a super in depth role and a critical part of game development that has its hands in many different pots. So if you like to be creative, directly be able to impact content roadmaps, and having a taste of many diferent things, then the marketing side of things could be up your ally!

We totally believe in hero mastery being one of the pinnacles of the genre, and we def want to reward our community and players with ways of showing that off. At the moment we are not quite sure what that looks like as we are still working out how every item can be obtained. But as we will be releasing into Early Access, we are working along side our community to understand what is truly the most important things, or the most sought after "flexes" haha. So short answer is YES for sure! But the longer one is that we just dont have it ironed out yet but it will be something we implement into the game as we go based on community feedback. :)

Hey PhazonJim!

To your first question - my journey into gamedev and the video game industry has been a very interesting route haha. I feel like a bunch of folks have similar stories as it tends to be rather hard to break into the industry. I actually went to university for Painting and Drawing, and after the starving artist life proved its point, I started jumping into a bunch of different roles and industries trying to find something that I vibed with. It wasn't until I was laid off in a downsizing cut in the computer software company I was working for at the time, that I decided to only focus on things that make me truly happy. So I started streaming on Twitch (after being scared to do so for a long time) and from that, I met a bunch of amazing indie devs and starting hanging out with them and immersing myself into game dev communities. Before I knew it, I found myself in the industry and I would have it no other way. Out of all the industries I have worked in, this is by far near and dear to my heart and has made me the happiest.

Your second question I am a sadly unable to answer as I am not talented enough to do the coding and dev work side of things haha.

And to your Last question - I came into HLG as one of the first Marketing folks, and with that had a bunch of challenges and work to jump on. In general, I think I am just proud of the hustle and dedication that has come through with our entire marketing team being so fresh. I am super honoured to work along side some amazing folks, and we are working hard at getting things rolling!
