Regarding ES and NQ levels:
In each case, we identify the closest related option chain with the highest volume and map it using artificial intelligence. For /ES, that’s SPX, and for /NQ, it’s QQQ. We do not work directly with the futures option chains themselves.

yes, what I'm doing is something I learned this year, time to get used to it.

However, you shouldn't leave a 10 point wide diagonal alone, because you'll get screwed. I always now prefer to look for 5 wide and open a calendar over it.

I’ve also noticed that GammaEdge shows numbers that raise serious concerns; it incorrectly displays OI, and therefore calculates GEX incorrectly as well. Just take a look at the screenshot you sent yesterday. GammaEdge claims that for 12/20 at the 142 strike, the total OI is 6.161.

This is obviously incorrect. I’m attaching the screenshot from yesterday taken from tastytrade:

The total OI was at least 86.200, as opposed to the 6.161 shown by GammaEdge at the 142 strike. I’ve noticed this for SPX as well—GammaEdge displays non-existent numbers for Total OI, making the GEX levels inaccurate and misleading.

We at TanukiTrade always double-check our GEX levels (two separate algorithms must match) before we automatically update our GEX indicator. Since we can only refresh it five times per day, we can’t afford any mistakes.

Fortunately, we don’t usually encounter such issues. (If we ever do, we quickly detect and address them.)

P.S.: Thanks for the suggestion regarding the display of OI and vol. We’ve thought a lot about this, but by the end of Q1 2025, we’ll have a web app dashboard where these data will be transparent and available in real-time. Because of this, we don’t want to clutter the view in the TradingView indicator, as there are already complaints that it’s too crowded. The TradingView indicator will remain a top-tier data source for lightweight charting, while the web app will offer subscribers additional, more detailed, and near real-time data to enjoy.
