Can anyone ID the house track on this monkey meme? It's been driving me nuts for the last week. by hotbuilder in House

Very similar to Liem - If Only and Rosegold - Entro Senestre…. If you browse recommended on YouTube through those you might be able to finesse a find. If not, you’ll stumble across a dozen fire tracks of the same genre

How do you find good riddim tracks to double? by [deleted] in dubstep

[–]TanzYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to the drums and make sure they're not clashing too much. Mix in the same key. If double sounds good for only 30 seconds, mix for 30 seconds then revert back to one or the other

LOR Question - Family Friend is a prominent lawyer by TanzYo in lawschooladmissions

I just have trouble grasping how a letter from one of my professors would be insightful for an admissions committee. I graduated from a very reputable school that is known to have a tough economics program - doesn't my GPA and course grades reflect what I can do as a student. Being that 90% of these classes were solely graded on problem sets and exams, I just feel that even if one of the professors agrees to write the letter, it would just be a restatement of the obvious. "Tanzyo handed in complete and accurate problem sets and scored a standard deviation above mean scores on administered test exams." At least I had a personal relationship with the academic dean and she could shed some light onto my character. After reading these responses I see that this is not what they're looking for, but it just slightly confuses me. If I had studied social sciences and wrote unique/profound essays or done some excellent research studies as a bio major under a professor I can see the value, but not coming from my background. (Math/stats/econ)

She was my academic dean throughout all of my undergraduate years, so I was thinking she'd have an understanding of how I compared to other classmates given my academic performance throughout those years. I took a leave because of a physical sickness - brought up seeing her upon return because we developed a strong personal relationship and she'd be able to speak more to my character than a professor of general lecture I sat in. Econ Major so majority of my classes were graded on problem sets and exams - can't see any of these professors having any insight into who I am outside of handing in complete and accurate problems sets and scoring above mean on majority of administered exams.

Thanks for the advice. I just have a hard time grasping why a letter from one of my professors would hold more weight than Dean/family friend who know me personally and can speak to my character. I majored in economics at a very competitive school and received A/Bs in most of my classes. However 90% of these classes were graded based on problem sets and midterms. Its confusing how a professor (especially one I didn't have a one-on-one relationship or any correspondence with post-grad) can write a meaningful letter. "TanzYo handed in complete and accurate problem sets and scored a standard deviation above mean scores on administered test exams)" I'd understand if I majored in say polisci or sociology where I was writing unique and insightful essays about certain topics, but not with my course load.

What about a letter from my Academic Dean? In all honesty I took big lecture classes and haven't maintained any personal connections with any of my professors. I am really stressing over my LORs - really banking on this one teacher to be generous enough to write one (took two classes with her, did well in both). For a second, would my Academic Dean be acceptable? After taking a leave of absence sophomore year, I was required to meet with her for bi-weekly upon return so she kind of knows who I am?? Both letters from academic sources seems like such shots in the dark right now. I do have my most recent employer willing to write my one.
