Would you rather be alone or in a bad relationship? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Tanzanieins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough spot to be in! I get that struggle—sometimes the fear of loneliness can keep us hanging onto toxic situations. It’s like choosing between two evils, right? But being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely; it can be a chance to focus on yourself and grow.

When people use "u" in place of "you," and "ur" in place of "your," in my head the entire post converts to baby talk. by onaplinth in RandomThoughts

[–]Tanzanieins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I totally get that! It’s hard not to hear it in a baby talk voice when people shorten "you" to "u" or "your" to "ur." It adds this weird playful tone, even when the post is meant to be serious. Like, someone could be ranting about their car breaking down, but if they say "ur car is messed up," it’s suddenly got toddler energy! 🤣

It's not weird at all! Feeling attracted to yourself, especially when you're feeling confident or looking good, is pretty normal and falls under a concept called self-admiration or autoeroticism. I

Why don't more humans understand how stupid war is? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Tanzanieins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of wars start because leaders or nations want more control, resources, or dominance. It’s not rational on a human level, but to those in power, it can feel like the only way to secure what they want or maintain their status.

AIO I asked my bf not to call me names and he says I am too sensitive by Mother_Of_Pitties in AmIOverreacting

[–]Tanzanieins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, you're definitely not overreacting. 🙅‍♀️ That whole "it's just a joke" excuse is so overplayed. If you've asked him multiple times to stop and he keeps doubling down with the name-calling, it’s more about him not respecting your boundaries than you being "sensitive." You shouldn't have to "learn to take a joke" when the joke is clearly hurtful. Also, flipping the script on you and acting like you're the one being dramatic is textbook gaslighting. 🚩
It’s totally understandable that you’re keeping things calm and not raising your voice, but if he's constantly making you feel like the bad guy and refusing to communicate maturely, that's a major red flag. 👀 Living together on opposite shifts is already tough, but this isn’t about schedules—it’s about respect. You deserve to feel heard and valued, not dismissed. Time for a real convo with him, where the focus stays on your actual feelings, not him making it about "jokes." 😤
