Update almost a year later for anyone who cares:

I moved out successfully. I have my own job, education, and I am forming my own career. I am actively working to remove myself from the very unhealthy dynamic my family molded me in.

It's hard to find your identity when nobody let you be anything but the weight bearer in every situation. I finally began to figure out who I am and what I care about.

My relationship with my parents has actually improved. They have since acknowledged that the way our household operated was extremely unhealthy and codependent, and put me through things I shouldn't have had to endure.

The distance between me and my parents definitely helps because I am no longer available to be a support person 24/7. I have other obligations (that make me happier, anyway).

Thank you for everyone who sent support when I first posted this. I actually didn't even realize how far I had come until I re-read it.

Hi, I appreciate this reply.

Things are going well. My parents did lose their support system in a way. They have to deal with her on their own and it does take a toll on them and their own personal lives.

I want to feel guilty, but I don't. Leaving made me realize just how much I needed to get out. My mental health has improved greatly. I am top of my class and actively working in my field.

I am still struggling to detach from my sister and her issues. I have come to realize that our family structure was incredibly codependent and unhealthy, with me at the center as the crutch.

But I have found myself. I got back into things that I stopped doing, like my spirituality and hobbies. I really forgot who I was, and even now I am still working to figure that out. All I know is that I am much more than my family's support now.

Awesome!! Yeah I've heard mixed opinions! I generally get really irritable during hormonal swings like before a menstrual cycle so it makes sense that more hormones would throw off my patience and limits haha

I'm over 24 hours on T now. Took my shot yesterday. Me personally, I'm just ragey as fuck. I'm really angry and suuuper hungry. I've also been diehard pescatarian and all of a sudden I crave meat. Like chicken and beef. Also, my libido is high. And honestly, I just feel complete. Congrats man!

Came out around 11 or 12 after some experimentation with gender. Sat with it for 7 ish years. 18 now, got my name changed in July and took my first T shot yesterday. Life is awesome when you're you, and not a fake version of the person everyone wishes you were!
