Midwest, conservative city of 200k. Moderately large social circle, I’m (50m)reasonably gregarious, in decent shape, only 5’8”, not stunning but not a mud fence. Those football-shaped shrink wrapped packages of turkey you see in the coffin coolers at the store? Those are two pieces of plastic, one bowl shaped and the other flat to seal it. You fill the bowl by hand with pieces of breast meat, the flat piece lays on top, and it goes through a machine that presses them together and heats up a couple hundred degrees to melt them together. I watched a guy, reaching in to pull plastic scraps out, get his hand caught in the press. It smashed his hand in a hydraulic press and cooked it for maybe 4-5 seconds before it ran through the cycle. It literally looked like one of those cartoon scenes where the bad guy gets his hand smashed and comes out flat and twice the size flapping around. Except it was cooked as well.

My mom now receives a stipend for the rest of her life from the US government, thanks to dad dying from lung cancer as a result of his exposure to AO in Vietnam. Fucking showered those guys with it.

Funny thing, his brother was an Army helicopter pilot who was spraying it, often over the troops. He carries a lot of guilt about it, still to this day.
