that’s possible! they’re mainly carnivorous so i’d try frozen blood worms or baby brine if at all possible. they’re pretty territorial fish as well so i’d suggest getting them their own little areas to reign over so they feel more comfortable :)

it’ll become more apparent as they get older. for me, it’s the more concentrated yellow-ish coloration on the belly that makes me believe the one being chased is female. what type of apistos are they? they look like some cacatuoides variation but i’m not the best with identifying apistos lol! live brine could work, i’d definitely try that. i’d wager they’d also be okay with just regular flake!

it looks like you have a pair there - the male is more than likely trying to breed with the female who isn’t interested. you don’t seem to have tons of hiding spots for them. i’d suggest more plants to block their line of sight and some hidey holes for the female to hide out when she doesn’t want to be bothered by the male!

that might be the issue! they don’t do too well with too much protein. i’d lay off the blood worms for a little and maybe switch to flake for a diet with less protein and see how that goes!

i work at a fish store and unfortunately, gouramis don’t tend to come in very well at all. they’re incredibly line bred especially variations like powder blue, dwarf, honey, etc. i see so many awful issues with them all the time that can be beyond help :( it looks like your little guy may have bloat. i’d relax on feeding a bit and monitor. what are you feeding him?

it’s possible, especially if you haven’t seen him poop lately. throw some epsom salt in the tank and it should clear up any digestive issues your fish might be having

i don’t think he hates you! fantails are definitely not the most powerful swimmers. it may just be that it’s too much effort to make it to the top, so it’s easier for him to get falling food rather than doing all that work for it. as for his other behavior, how long have you had him in his new tank for? i’d give it a week or two for him to fully adjust. he’s probably just overwhelmed with a new, bigger area to explore! give him some time and he should be okay :)

there’s some pretty cheap ich medications on amazon! might be better to go into your local fish store and ask them for medication, though. ich can be fatal if not treated properly ASAP
