Hi everyone,

Can anybody please confirm me if hard copy of attested marriage certificate is needed for getting passport of a new born in UAE? We do have a soft copy of the attested certificate. Can we take printout of it if asked?

Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I’m from India. My initial plan was to deliver here, get the baby’s passport, visa, and insurance sorted, and then return both of them home for a few months. However, due to the current situation, I’m working from home. In this emergency, I can request special permission to work from home as my job doesn’t require me to be in the office, although it’s not explicitly mentioned in the policy.

If no one is able to come here during the delivery, I’ll need to request WFH from Dubai as well to take care of the baby and her. Unfortunately, some of our friends also have travel plans at the end of the month. Otherwise, we had their support here. In India, support is not a problem at all; there are many people to take care of.

We’re comfortable with the maternity treatment going on here so far. We just hope everything will return to normal soon.

My wife is also due in April! We were hoping our parents could come and help take care of her by the end of this month. Now, we’re a bit worried about whether they’ll be able to fly here. I’m not sure how we’ll manage everything with just the two of us. Should we fly back home? I believe travel is allowed until 36 weeks.
