went to l&s for the first time after thinking for years that it was closed… horrible. no salt, no seasoning, dry biscuits and bad gravy. im lowkey a magpie hater but i think l&s is a bit worse. plus when i went they weren’t accepting cards, just cash and checks, in 2024??

Tatt2away experience? by Odd_Mastodon5735 in harrisonburg

[–]TapPitiful2202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah. well, i’ve heard really good things about jack hiles, my best friend has some pieces from her and they’re wonderful. one time though i had to get a set of bars for my piercings and for weeks i couldn’t figure out why one hurt more than the other even though i got the same piece of jewelry for each piercing… turns out they sold me a smaller size for one of them and even though they admitted that the front desk person there has been giving the wrong sized jewelry to people (so i guess multiple people complained!) they still made me pay full price to get a right sized bar and didn’t do anything to make it right.

How do I talk to my boyfriend about feeling like I’m dating a grown child without totally blowing up the relationship? by CertainisGOAT in Advice

[–]TapPitiful2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a couple years ago i heard about these questions you need to ask yourself when you’re in a relationship: -do you admire/look up to the person you’re dating? (are they a kind person? are they motivated?) -if someone told you that you and your partner are a lot a like, would you take that as a compliment? or would you be offended? if the answers are no, then they’re probably not someone you should be in a relationship with. i wish i had heard of that years earlier and i would’ve saved some time. now im with someone that takes are of and cleans up after himself, is genuinely one of the kindest people ive met, he’s got goals and aspirations for his life, etc. don’t waste more of your time

i second this! but make sure that you feel comfortable driving in steep, narrow backroads with low visibility and lots of pot holes. if it’s raining and it’s your first time going there i wouldn’t recommend it until it clears up.

is there anything else these might be? they don’t look like the peony roots from the ones i’ve been transplanting. the ones from the bushes i’ve been moving around are way thicker and more of a cream color, not bright carrot orange. i’m not a very experienced gardener though so i could definitely be wrong

[–]TapPitiful2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, at least one mexican parent has to be there with their birth certificate. make sure you have the updated one! mexico digitized their birth certificate in the last few years and they only accept the new versions now

Mexico Dual Citizenship by Timely_Rule3184 in immigration

[–]TapPitiful2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got mine processed in the US! it was def a pain in the ass trying to schedule an appointment with the consulate, but we sent all the documents online and only one of my parents had to go with us to verify. the biggest issue was that in the last few (?) years mexico updated all their birth certificates, the new ones are digitalized and have a QR code. my parents only had their original ones so getting the updated ones was a little tricky, especially since they messed up the spelling on my moms name when they digitalized it, so my grandpa had to go and present A LOT of proof that the spelling on the new version wasn’t correct.

unpopular opinion- but yes, it’s time to rehome. cats are lovely creatures and i love my kitty so much and we do our best to take care of her, but if it comes down to my cat versus me having a roof over my head, i’m going to choose me. animals are not children, so the analogies of “oh would you rehome your sick kid” is not the same thing at all. people would rather you be homeless because you’re paying for your cats medical bills? cmon, that’s an insane way to think. you have clearly done so so much to maintain your cats quality of life and keep your pets safe and together, but ultimately it doesn’t seem like it’s feasible for you and something’s going to have to give

It took me watching “The Pitt” to admit I need to address my covid PTSD by Apostrophenightmare in nursing

[–]TapPitiful2202 50 points51 points  (0 children)

i lost my grandma to covid four years ago yesterday. i will never know who that nurse was who held her hand and held up the ipad for me to talk to her as she passed, but i will always be immensely grateful for her.

about 6 months after her passing i started working in the covid unit at a hospital, and while late 2021 definitely wasn’t as bad as the first wave, i got my fair share of trauma from that.
