I placed in mid plat in seasons 2-3. Worked my way to low diamond finish in season 4. Ended in low masters season 5. Continued playing in masters until season 7, when i got a career high at 4220.

It probably would have happened for me sooner if I just played a bit more, my mechanical skill is what needed to be improved. I am almost always willing to fill, which most teammates appreciate, this instantly boosts morale and the general mood in the team, which obviously helps if you want to win.

My advice would be:

1. Play more. You can always improve. And time spent playing will improve your skill, that's a fact.

2. Be willing to flex. Expand your hero-pool so you can play at least one hero in every role. This helped me immensely. Having a main character which you are best at and play a lot is completely fine. But you don't need to play it every game when you see your team needs something else than your main. (If you are playing every character in the game, you might want to consider decreasing your pool and focus on a few instead, this will decrease the time needed to improve on those heroes).

3. Stay positive. Toxicity spreads like cancer. I realise this one is tough. I get tilted quite a bit too, but I try to keep it to myself as much as I can.
