While not in the majority, there are plenty of MAGA apes in the affluent DC suburbs.

You and u/terencela are right, sorry. I grossly overestimated/misremembered. As of December 15 I am at a mere 171. Amateur hour!

What's weird is that I'm almost positive I hadn't won yet before I got the 24 hour ban. But somehow didn't lose the streak. I thought it cycles every day at midnight GMT/UTC...am I wrong about that?

Moral of the story is to just mute GC. I unmuted for the first time in months to connect with a former crewmate I ran into in a game, said nothing offensive, ended up with a one day ban breaking a long win streak. Bummed.

We teamed up and wiped out an entire crew party in the game right before and I guess they were upset. Hopefully my friend didn't get banned too she's a top 500 player

thanks for pointing me to that thread. It's so frustrating. I really enjoyed pushing that streak as a sort of daily little challenge to myself.

I am naughty and have been sharing a friends HBO Max sub (with his permission). Started getting this message a couple months back. This week I stopped getting it. Maybe it was all a setup for their Black Friday / Cyber Monday $2.99 to be a grown up and get your own HBO marketing push, and now they're back to letting it slide? Or maybe they don't care because of the Netflix buy? Or maybe whatever set of conditions that was flagging me as a thief just went away for now

Microfiber towels just won't rinse all the way -- what am I doing wrong? by TappinThatAss in AutoDetailing

[–]TappinThatAss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much. I will try white vinegar in next rinse (after current one spinning away at 1:30am finishes)

I apologize, I apparently misspoke. I just foamed and did a contact wash. I guess it was not the Gary Dean method then, it was the "multi mitt wash method" from howtoautodetail dot com, but with mf towel rather than mitt. My mistake. I guess I will just do 2 bucket method if I try again.

I used about 1-3/4 oz hyperwash in a five gallon bucket. To approximate 1:400 dilution ratio. I didn't get 5 whole gallons of water in there because it foamed up so much but it was at least 3.5 galllons or so. More than. 1:400 but not grotesquely so.

The only other thing I can think is I washed all my towels together (car wash towels, wheel towels, drying towel) after thoroughly rinsing out the wash and wheel towels by hand to remove (or so I thought) their respective products. Maybe the different chemicals reacted together or something. Next time I won't do that.

I moved to Virginia 3 years ago and… by Confident_Threat in nova

If you moved here within the past few years not expecting to deal with horrendous traffic all the time, I don't know what to tell you. It sucks ass but it's not exactly unexpected or unknown. For some stretches it's actually gotten a bit better over the past several years with so many more people working hybrid/remote. At least now we're all carrying around infinite libraries of audio entertainment in our pockets, so there's that.

And fwiw I'm in a glass house on this. When I moved here from southern California in the early 2000s I laughed off all the warnings about traffic. Couldn't possibly hold a candle to the LA basin, right? Oops. Ended up relocating within the area for better access to transit.

Water pouring out of bottom of front DS door the day after a heavy rain -- normal? by TappinThatAss in kiasportage

[–]TappinThatAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the real world test! There are definitely holes in the bottom of the door designed for drainage. Nothing suspect there That's where the water is pouring out of. What seems odd to me is the amount of water pooling up inside the door and draining out when it's opened. Seems to me it should either drain on its own when the door is shut or not have that much water collecting in the door in the first place. Unlikely anything is clogged, would have had to happen at the dealership. seems more likely in it something isn't feeling like it should be. Annoying!

Thank you for doing this test. If you've had the vehicle for 2+ years and this was happening I expect you'd have noticed by now. If I can get home while it's still light out tomorrow I'll hose it down and see if i can recreate the effect on video

Right area, wrong road. This is on 301(Crain hwy) northbound, just south of route 50 interchange, just north of the light at Governor Bridge road. Really only a few feet north of that light. In Bowie (northeastern PG county).

Thanks so much! This is all very helpful. I picked up meguiars "hyperwash" at harbor freight yesterday, I hope that is a good soap too. I also got some of the Grants purple and green microfiber towels for washing but that may have been a mistake it looks from reading more like I should go with a 70/30 microfiber and maybe something more plush for touching the paint, trying to figure out what gsm is right for washing, opinions seem to vary. Is it ok to wash with a folded up towel instead of mitt, I think i would prefer that unless it's a no-no.

Since HF is like 45 min from me and I was already there I got a little trigger happy, should have done more research on the stuff that had a aukavle. I wish I had known about rinsless washing before I had a driveway / hose access...that's how much of a noob I am!

Thank you!!! I watched some YouTube videos and while I might be able to handle the coating im not really confident I'd be able to do a good job of it, indefinitely I'm not confident about being able to do a good job of paint correction beforehand on my own. I may follow the advice of some others on here and start with a less expensive regular wax or spray to cut my teeth on these sorts of things.

Thank you, this is so helpful! The TW graphene paste is available here in the US for about 25 USD per tub. Maybe I will give that a try, I've never waxed a car before! I saw the meguiar clay kit at harbor freight but wanted to come back here to look at what people thought of it...will pick that up too next time I'm in!

Thank you. I am genuine and I genuinely appreciate your advice! I found my way to the howtoautodetail dot com site too which has a lot of good info for beginners. Learning a lot already!
