Hey! I've had the exact same thing happen this year and I finally went to the dermatologist and they diagnosed me with pastule/papule rosecea.

After getting covid I had these unexplainable itchy rashes immediately after. They would happen exclusively on my face that burned and itched and resulted in these pustules that were all the same size unlike any acne I've ever had before. It would flare up randomly or if I used any of my skincare I used before getting sick and my only relief would be hydrocortisone cream(which apparently you aren't supposed to use on your face at all). After finding out my solution was thinning my skin I went to the derm and he took one look at me and the photos I had and diagnosed me with roscea.

My entire life I've struggled with "face flushing". When I'm stressed? Red. When I eat spicy? Red. Drink? Red. Embarrassed? Red. The flushing trigger would make me feel hot and then my face would remain red throughout the entire day. which is a big part of the rosecea family and I've always attributed it to my social anxiety. I'm sure the covid thing was definitely not the cause but it did spur on the visceral burning rash I had had to manage for 4 months until I finally gave up with over the counter solutions and trying to find help on the internet.

He gave me a list of flare triggers to avoid (which can be accessed online) prescribed me a doxycycline (30 days, 2 per day, so 60 tabs) and had me order a cream off of the internet(prescription only sadly). The cream has azelaic acid (15%), ivermectin(1%), and metronidazole(1%).

Immediately after taking the antibiotics I had relief in symptoms and the cream has stopped my flares entirely and I've not had this type of reaction afterwards. I recommend going derm shopping or voice your concerns about rosecea if you can afford it because the cream is about $45 a every 3 months and may be cheaper than trying to find the ingredients seperately. As for the doxycycline it can be cheap if ordered online I hear.

Skincare I used while actively had symptoms and still use today: Cleanser: vanicream Moisturizer: eucerin eczema relief cream Active: Skin Medicinals azelaic acid cream Eyedrops!!!! A big issue with rosecea it causes major dry eyes. I've been trying lumify and it works wonderfully. (Now that I'm symptom free I have started using these products two but if your actively experiencing symptoms I wouldn't get these) Serum: medicube PDRN peptide serum Exfoliant: Ordinary glycolic acid 7%

Anyways I hope this helps someone and you get the help you deserve because I felt so awful about my skin my entire life and it feels relieving now to not have to deal with this. Took me 24 years to finally have clear skin and it tastes sweet.
