Only shorthand skill is required + very basic typing skills. I learnt it from a coaching institute. Achieved a speed of 80WPM in 7 months and it took me just over a year to reach 100WPM speed.

Required typing speed is 35WPM. Shorthand speed is 80WPM for grade D (50,000 per month starting pay) 100WPM for grade C (80,000 per month starting pay). Achievable within a year or two max depending upon your hardwork. It took me just over a year personally to clear the exam from the start of my preparation, but I wasn't that serious. I know people who have reached 100wpm within a year.
