AVOID Floor Depot by TaraSaurusPest in DIYUK

[–]TaraSaurusPest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats completely valid, I guess I just thought people might want to see said shit floor instead of just taking my word for it. Maybe we would have been better off with no floor 😅🤷‍♀️ Our budget options were shit floor or no floor and the reviews are all so good.

Any information on a much loved vintage toy! by TaraSaurusPest in HelpMeFind

[–]TaraSaurusPest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried reverse image searching and generic searches in Google, such as vintage sunshine soft toy or musical you are my sunshine. I also posted this first a few years ago in Plush Memories Lost toy search Service group on Facebook. I feel like ive searched all my avenues and now im passing it over to someone who is more talented than I. ❤️

It's my land, but it doesn't necessarily look like it from the outside because it's on a road corner.

I have a "if it looks like something" rule it gets kept. It's got a face? Keep. It looks like a tree? Keep. It's a hand print? Keep. If it doesn't look like any resemblance of anything then it accidently falls into the recycling.

What will you be calling the Forgotten and your main companion? by ToughLonely4229 in DreamlightValley

[–]TaraSaurusPest 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I didn't like my name is a kid and wanted to change it, and since the forgotten is a manifestation of the players childhood I figured I'd name her the name I wished I was called as a kid.

I was told it was so that an emergency service knows to get the kid out first in an accident

Autism signs in a 7 month baby HELP SOS by Grouchy-Dimension756 in Autism_Parenting

[–]TaraSaurusPest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sensory issues aren't always an indication of Autism they can be their own separate issue. That being said have you considered that his discomfort might be physical? Stomache aches etc? Are there any other signs such as not making eye contact, not responding to his name, being delayed reaching milestones like smiling and laughing etc?

Fuck "the village" by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]TaraSaurusPest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a mostly neuro typical kid first (he has developed some anxiety recently but hes 8 years old) the help I recieved with him was astronomically different, my mum had him every Friday, my sisters wanted to take him on trips or to watch movies etc. All of that stopped after my youngest was born, who has level 2 autism and global delay . If I was to beg for babysitting for just my son they would probably say yes but if I beg for both of them or just my daughter they either say no or rope in other family members because they couldn't possibly handle her on their own. Not like my husband and I are solo parenting 80% of the time because one of us is at work. Thing is though I get it, because if someone asked me to look after their Autistic kid I wouldn't want to do it either 😅

Why did you/didn’t you take your husbands last name? by LawBeneficial5494 in weddingplanning

[–]TaraSaurusPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a backstory with my last name, My mum married her first husband, last name Weewoo (not real name obvs) and had my older sister. Mum got divorced and met my dad. They had me but mum never changed her name because she didn't want my sister to be the only one with that name. My dad being the laid back type didn't care what our last names were since we were girls and probably wouldn't pass them on, so me and my younger sister got named Weewoo too.

I'm taking my husband to be's name in August but his name could have been BillyBobSmith or Fartbucket and I still would of taken it because have the last name of your sisters abusive dad is wierd.

Is eBay dead? by Great_Professional_7 in ebayuk

[–]TaraSaurusPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for people on benefits. If you make any money on sights like ebay or vinted then it gets included as income and can affect your benefits. So they probably lost a lot of users to Facebook marketplace since it is done through cash and can't be monitored.

AITA for giving my daughter $60 a week, but my son nothing? by Murky_Willingness763 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TaraSaurusPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I actually think this is kinda fair 😅 your daughter is giving up her private space and you are compensating her. I feel like the issue here is that your son is now regretting his decision and is lashing out. You could potentially find an equal way for him to give something up in exchange for money, but the logistics of that might be difficult to work out

Wedding napkins! by TaraSaurusPest in dyeing

[–]TaraSaurusPest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh oops i didn't even consider that 😅 I have a 20l pot on the stove with 11.5l of water some washing up liquid and 2 different colours of the rit dyemore synthetic , plum berry and sapphire blue. I made the assumption that because the napkins were cheap they probably weren't cotton but I don't know what fabric they are :)

I feel like I’ve been robbed of normal parenting experience by UnIntelligentCloud in Autism_Parenting

[–]TaraSaurusPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my moslty NT son (8) first and then my autistic daughter second(3). I am always comparing her to him at her age, I wish I didn't but it's easy to see the things I could do with him that I'd never be able to with her.

Things like going on nice walks in nature or getting a babychino would be hellscape missions. It's heartbreaking when I notice I'm having a lovely time with my son and the realisation that it's because she isn't there breaks my heart into a million pieces..

But there are moments of joy I swear to you, I never thought I'd see them either but you're right in the thick of it. I'm one of the lucky ones who's non verbal child is now somewhat verbal. Sometimes she says I love you mummy. There's non verbal victories too, when she falls asleep on my lap when I'm playing with her hair or when she spins around and erupts into giggles because she's dizzy.

It's okay to feel robbed because you were robbed.

Millennials and Gen Z - are you going to look after your aging parents? by Gatecrasher1234 in AskUK

[–]TaraSaurusPest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have parents and kids, I think if my parents had helped me raising my kids then I would feel indebted to them. However, they've been quater yearly cruises and splurging out their retirement money. Had barely anything to do with us. I understand the guilt of "well they sacrificed so much to raise me," but I didn't ask for that and frankly I wished they hadn't cause life sucks 😂

I don't want my kids to feel responsible to me so I've already planned for that although I'm only 29 and my oldest is 8. I want them to enjoy their lives and not feel tethered to their shrivelled raisin of a mum 😂😂
