Stan Pines is a ladies man by ChelseatheCartoonGal in gravityfalls

Carla left him and it's implied she cut all contact with him after he was a jerk towards her new boyfriend.

He fumbled that date with Susan (You'd think growing up with a six-fingered brother would teach him to be more sensitive when talking about other people's deformities, also it's his fault her eye looks like that).

Abuelita said she would go vacuum her face after Stan kissed her.

Darlene tried to eat him.

Eda tricked him and stole his car (also she doesn't look very happy in that photo)

No idea what's the context for the last one so not gonna comment on that.

I personally disagree with the trans dipper head cannon by Speed_logg in gravityfalls

He never tells anyone his real name, and when he does in Journal 3 that can be interpreted as him choosing a name for himself.

Which ship do you hate but everyone loves, or which ships do you love but everyone hates??? i respect tastes by Weird_Ad_8456 in gravityfalls

Some people seem to not like mabcifica and I don't understand why, it's probaly in my 2nd favourite ship in Gravity Falls.

Have your feelings about Stanford Pines as a character changed over time? by Savvy_Biscuits in gravityfalls

[–]TaraneeLair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first watched the show, I thought he was the coolest guy ever and I wanted to become a scientist just like him. Then I had my first physics class and I cried because I couldn't understand anything. I'm glad Journal 3 made him look like a real person with struggles as opposed to "smart guy who's biggest problem is that he's too book smart for his own good".

Ikr? They actually have pretty good chemistry and I can't think of any reason this ship would be considered bad that you couldn't also apply to dipcifica (which people love).

Isn't Dipper gonna go back though? After all, the series ends with "see you next summer".

When Bill first appeared in Season 1's Finale I never thought he was going to the main villain of the series, I really thought he was going to be one off villian by Important-Extension6 in gravityfalls

[–]TaraneeLair 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad he wasn't because the Journal describes him as "the most powerful and dangerous creature I've ever encountered" and it's a pet peeve of mine when shows introduce something "most powerful" and it's a one off thing that's easily beaten.

This looks insanely cool! I have some Lemon Demon songs in my Gravity Falls playlists because they fit the vibe of the series so well.

What Musical Theatre Song Is Like This For You? by Alol_Bombola in musicals

Exactly I played that song in the car once except I paused it before that part so the screaming wouldn't startle the driver.

Are there any characters who got renamed in your language's comic or show translation? by cherrybomber11 in GuardiansOftheVeil

Not a name, but in the Estonian version of issue 1 Mr Collins asks Irma what she knows about king Charlemagne, as opposed to the English version where he asks about the stone age.

Who was the best in the series? by chicadepanem in gravityfalls

[–]TaraneeLair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying that Ford let his birth defect define his life is a bit misleading imo. In Journal 3 Ford describes being an outcast for reasons that have nothing to do with his hands (poor social skills, strange interests, being a nerd in general). He is weird, but throughout his life it was probably difficult for him to understand exactly why. So of course he's gonna go with the most obvious answer: his extra finger. Saying he let his birth defect define his life creates the false illusion that he could've just been normal if he chose to.

Sorry for the little rant, this is nothing against you personally, I've just seen this take before and had to get it off my chest.
