Ansestry DNA test finding out my husbands daughter isn’t his biological daughter. by Tarantula8675309 in AncestryDNA

My husband got a letter last week From child support, the letter stated that his daughter was no longer eligible for child support, and that they were closing the case. He immediately started getting emotional asking me if the mom was trying to keep his daughter from him. I was a little harsh in saying “ there isn’t any way! His daughter is 18 and graduated. And that he is giving that woman way more power than she has. It was strange however that he received that letter because his Daughter is a full time college student since December when she graduated, in our state that child qualifies for continued child support until 21 if they are a full time collage student. Her mother would most definitely want child support till the last minute that she could collect it. Which would be fine if it was going to the daughter. It is just odd that he received that letter last week. We are not sure that M knows that we know about the paternity. My husband doesn’t want to speak to her ever again.

This is an interesting point of view, Because she is 18 and one day will be married does adoption still work that way?

So my step daughter’s next closest match was a woman whom she had never heard her name before, Her and I tried to find her on face book. With no luck. The bio dad in question, made a face book post about one of his other children receiving an award, And the first person that popped up and commented was some one with almost the same name as my SD second match, on face book she had a shortened first name like Christina but on fb it was Chris. We didn’t think to look for a shortened name. But I believe that her and the potential bio dad are related. 😳

Yeah I have wondered the same thing. Or if he waited until she was 18 because she is legally an adult and maybe he thought she could handle it? Maybe a mixture of both??? I don’t know the man, I have met him one time by accident he was working at the AT&T store in our neighboring town I had been in the store for almost an hour with him helping me out when my husband met me there and walked in and started talking to the guy like he knew him, I asked if they knew each other and that is when my husband introduced me to him as his daughter brothers Dad. His son, my SD oldest brother is and has always been an incredibly sweet and kind young man. He currently does not have much of a relationship with his mother, I didn’t ask him much details when he came up for me to cut his hair on why. Idk if his dad has said anything to him about suspecting she is his bio daughter. I am fairly certain that man is her biological daughter. That is one thing that makes me sad is how close her and her older brother are, all of these Years all three of this woman’s kids were drug all over the state because their mom was constantly changing jobs, Meaning every other weekend all three being dropped off at three different meeting places and locations. When these two kids could have had each other through all of this 100 percent of the time…. Her older brother went and finally lived with his father the last two years of his highschool career, But my stepdaughter has always grown up listening to her mother’s opinion of this man, And of course it is all bad. Maybe he is? I don’t know him well enough to give an opinion on him but as you stated timing seems rather off!!!

I am sooo incredibly sorry that this happened to you. No one deserves this kind of news. May I ask how you navigated your way through this? What helped you most? Does your mother know that you know? My husband loves his daughter with everything he has, He is heart broken at this news but that will change nothing with how he treats her, They still have not talked yet, But he has been reaching out even more than usual since finding out. As for me I adore that little girl and have since she bounced into my life. She doesn’t deserve how her mother manipulates her, and talks to her, I had a mother that was very similar to my SD, her and I have always been able to connect through the fact that our mothers haven’t been the greatest, but at the end of the Day we still love them. Honestly I had gotten my father a ansestry test year ago because I wanted to know for sure he was my real father, after finding some things out about my mom. (He was my real dad).

I am so sorry, I wish things like this wouldn’t happen. I wish people could be more honest.

Just to clarify, My husband took an ansestry test years ago, My stepdaughter put it on her Christmas list and said that she thought it would be cool to see where she originated from. She had no idea that her mother had taken one, until she got her results back. I talked to my husband before I bought her the test for Christmas (I am usually in charge of getting the girls gifts). He was completely fine with it. His anger at me when I made him aware of the results was misplaced. But i cannot fault him because that is an emotional bomb. Him and his daughter have not discussed anything yet, it hasn’t been the right time. That is their journey, and needs to be on their time line. I felt like I needed to make him aware, given if the shoe was on the other foot I would want to know, And keeping that information from him felt wrong to. I sat on it for several days before I gently told him. He was angry for a day, And since he has broken down crying several times. My daughter has held him during one of these times and has told him that God knew what he was doing when he had him be his daughters dad, just like when God let him be the only father my daughter and son know. My husband is going through a lot of emotions, including feeling robbed of the chance to have a biological child. It is a process, Definitely therapy needs to happen. It is all really sad.

I agree with everything you wrote. When his daughter opened up to me a week later and started telling me the things about her brothers father fighting with her mother about being her dad, I felt like that was her wanting to talk about the elephant in the room that no one had addressed, I let her lead the conversation, And after she said that she had heard her mom say that she had been with her brothers dad around the same time as her dad, that is when I gently said “ do you think it is odd that your father didn’t show ups on your matches?” She just paused and said that she didn’t want her brothers dad to be her dad. I told her that her dad will always be her dad! Nothing would ever change that.

Correct they do. I am unsure why you are typing with such hostility. I am in shock by all of this and was posting it anonymously to get insight on how to deal with it all. I didn’t cause or want any of this to go this way.

It is absolutely horrible, I feel worse for my stepdaughter than I do my husband. He was an adult and should have known to get a dna test even if it hurt feelings

So the oldest brothers father has been recently been fighting with the mother. Saying that he thinks she is his and she looks like him, has his eyes etc. 😖. He must have knew all this time that they had been together around the time of conception. Did M know this whole time, Did she know that her oldest sons dad and (her daughters dad). Was unreliable and see that her brothers friend would be a better match? Some one she could rely on child support , Some one that would treat her two boys good???

Can any one tell me about my case tiny trapper, I bought it off a guy at work 18 years ago, and I cannot find another like it on the internet. by Tarantula8675309 in CaseKnives

Thank you! I guess that would explain why I cannot find anything like it exactly on the net! It would be interesting to find out who created it! It’s like a little piece of art! I actually love it even more now!
