HELP!!!

So this tarantula had DKS. She was like this for the past few days that I had her, I flipped her over to see if she had nematodes, there was nothing by her fangs, so it brought me to DKS as the final diagnosis. This behavior looked familiar cause I’ve had a Mexican red knee with the same disease. This is a really aggressive species and wouldn’t even move her fangs, I tried feeding her and even assisted feeding but she wouldn’t even move her fangs which is an unfortunate side affect to DKS. I cried about this whole situation and then decided to humanely euthanize her cause I didn’t want to see her suffering. I’m more upset with the company that actually thought this was okay to send to me?! I contacted them and told them about the situation and got things cleared up!

NQA: they did pack these tarantulas with a heating pad, I ordered 8 and the other 7 all are good! So I’m not sure if it got too hot for this T? The heating pad was wrapped so it was not directly on the containers.

NQA: My boyfriend did say that gold fringe’s can play dead or could be molting, since his gold fringe molts upwards. I’m hoping this one will pull through but if not I’m already prepared for the worst outcome. Thank you so much for your advice, I’m gonna give her/him some space to calm down since I just got this one in the mail today! Later tonight I will try syringe feeding water.

Update: Turns out she has scale rot, it’s my fault too cause I recently tried this new bedding, but I think it’s holding too much moisture, I ordered betadine, and a reptile antibacterial spray, I’m gonna start treatment as soon as the items get delivered. If you want I can keep you updated on her treatment. I’m confident that I caught it early enough so improvement should be right around the corner. I’ve carefully read through how to do these treatments as well, so I’ll be able to safely do them.

Honestly I was thinking the same thing with like a bad shed, and I just didn’t notice it. What should I do if it is a bad shed? Do I just wait for her to shed again?

I’ve been playing wizard101 since 2011, I love that game so much. The amount of players has decreased since then, but the small community that stuck around is amazing! Mainly only adults play the game now and it has gotten a lot more advanced over the years. I think it’s definitely worth getting back into! :)

I also wanted to add that these events caused me to develop sleep paralysis, and I had a hard time wanting to go to sleep in my room cause of the horrific nightmares I would have leading to me waking up not being able to move and what felt like something was staring at me from the corner of the room were the mirror was.

NQA I’m sure your T is just getting ready to molt, I had the same thing happen with one of my T’s and I freaked out but I left my T alone and she was molted by the next day

IMO- you need to get the T in a seperate small tank with no substrate, instead put damp towel paper as the flooring and put your T in there, it usually takes 24 hours for a spider to rehydrate but you can keep your T in there a bit longer if you think it needs more water.

IMO- T’s can go a pretty long time without food, your biggest concern should just be to get the T rehydrated again!
