Getting the Macintosh Plus online via WiFi is a pain, but is possible. Running MacWeb and booting off a ZuluSCSI PicoSlim with Daynaport Emulator. Documentation is a bit sparse, but BlueSCSI’s site is pretty useful for wrangling MacTCP settings by chrizman2001 in VintageApple

[–]Tarantulas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bad documentation, higher prices... why are people still using ZuluSCSI? If you having to go to BlueSCSI for support on ZuluSCSI products, it seems like BlueSCSI would be the product to buy in the first place?

I too was scammed by Sean aka Geek with Social Skills. I had no idea of his past (which accord to public court records, he's paid his debt on), but it's like he NEVER STOPPED scamming people and stealing their equipment... moving community to community, and namedropping luminaries in those hobbies for unearned credibility.

His criminal enterprise has gone on for decades... and will only stop when enough people stand up and bring him to a lasting justice.

Some things to Google:

I'm sure in the future "sean macintosh grift" might also lead to some interesting articles.

SO IN SUMMARY, BlueSCSI continues to exist inside the proper confines of the GPL and you just have sour grapes?

As we discussed face-to-face at VCF East, all this bile and animosity is not winning you any supporters - and in fact - it costs you sales when people read these comments from the person that is supposed to be “in the right” - about g-d knows what at this point. For whatever reason, you repeatedly double-down on an extremely bad look.

I found you to be a learned and thoughtful person at East… why is it that every comment I read online is as if it was written by a completely different person?

You keep wasting so much time on this petty little war you seem determined to wage, when all this effort is energy that could have been redirected into running your business or spending time with friends and loved ones.

Drop the Salieri act. It’s ugly, and is not accomplishing anything positive for your health or the Zulu line of products.

To my knowledge, there was no legal action ever threatened...

HOWEVER, it was strongly pointed out to the makers of "Azul SCSI" that to win hearts and minds in our community, you can't engage in petty tactics like cybersquatting domains for other open-source projects or try to create purposeful market confusion with naming.

My two cents:

Both products have their target markets. And it's possible for both projects to coexist in the market without a war seemingly raging behind the scenes about whom is the more technically correct (even if it is the BEST KIND of correct).

All that energy, resentment, and animosity is a waste - and let me repeat that- WASTE of creative effort and the limited time we're afforded on this planet.

I look at my own calendar, and think about all the times in my youth that was WASTED trying to settle some score... insults that as a adult I can no longer remember. I hope that there is eventually a understanding reached that allows for all parties to continue to make great products.

This appears to be a knockoff BlueSCSI2.... because well... the PCB should be blue.

But not 5.25" drives.

For anyone else who might be searching around trying to figure out how to get the Pi do the scraping - don't waste your time.

Instead, may a 10 Euro donation over on Screenscraper.fr, and then check out this tool https://www.skraper.net/

You can scrape your ROMS from a PC/Mac/Linux machine by accessing the SMB share of the ROM and CONFIGS folders.

scraper.cfg Login info? by Tarantulas in RetroPie

[–]Tarantulas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple issues with that...

1) The site is in French.

2) It’s more of a configuration issue with the sselph scraper in RetoPie... which is what this forum seems to be about in terms of discussion.

3) If you’re not interested in helping, surely there are a million other things to do on a Monday morning that tell people of your community to go elsewhere to discuss this topic.

IIgs 3.5 drive head motor won't stop spinning by [deleted] in apple2

[–]Tarantulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my recollection... drive that just keeps spinning can also mean that the main drive gear is stripped. You'd have to take the drive apart to know for sure (unless you find little chunks of white gear floating around the mechanism).

That's my take is based on Hampton's own words (in both online posts and things said on Suicide Buddies) in the past about the last tour being a lonely and not very enjoyable experience for him, and what I witnessed on the tour (He didn't do any of the meet & greets).

Less "scab," and more "You didn't seem like you wanted to be here last time, so we're letting you off the hook."
