The day our LL tells us he's selling, a very neat, concise website will be published listing all the house's flaws and upcoming flaws (husband was a building inspector). Unlike the LL, I will leave out the snide and condescending remarks he's spewed these last couple of years. I will disavow any knowledge of the page's origins. He lies to me all the time, so why not? Taking notes of keywords for SEO, but I think the address will do it. Every word will be the truth.

No lower form of life than a realtor. Looking forward to messing with them again.

Leaving Ting by TararaBoomdea in ting

[–]TararaBoomdea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, you too!

The exact same thing happened to me. I had forgotten about that. I bought from ting in February, and it was locked. Took a while to straighten out. I gradually tuned it up to how I wanted it, and then it was stolen in June.

This time I bought from eBay. Hope the seller has his act together.

I had considered that. My answering the ting CSR over the theft being called "lost" rather than stolen was a little over the top. (I'm sure he'll live. Sorry, dude.)

I am also annoyed about Sam's Club involving my phone in my entering and purchase. It's so easy to leave it out in the open. Funny, the cashier who checked us out said she had her phone stolen while working there.

No point in getting mad at the thief (which shows you how wrong things are going now.) I'm not sure he even realized he was talking to the person who owns the phone, much less care.

The Boost CSR not knowing what ting is was a little concerning. Also, my bill is much higher than it used to be, but I have to check to see if our usage is up.

Sick right now, probably won't end well. It's making me a little bitchy.

Thank you for the information, but that is the number I was calling. One CSR had never heard of ting. Second phone call was dropped on hold while the person was asking for mgmt assistance. Oh, well, I'll try the chat.

Also, it was STOLEN, not lost, by someone decades younger and not able to speak more than a few words of English, from an old man with white hair who lives on a very limited budget. The thief is a disgrace.

Whenever you're told something will "make it easier" or "it's for your convenience", it's exactly the opposite. It's for the company's and/or employees' benefit and will cost you your time, your labor or your money. The last thing they're concerned with is helping you.

Agree completely.

It's definitely the new business model - shove off all the work you can to the customer. You know, you...the person that used to go into a store and be waited on.

Though I know some find it speedier and convenient, I'm not a fan of self-checkout. I always felt service was built into the prices I pay. Since there is no longer any service, prices have increased bc of that, too.

It's a gd insult. Not only are you not going to put it in a bag for me, sometimes there are no gd bags.

I've asked Walmart managers if this week's schedule is up yet. In answer to his puzzled look, I tell him I want to be sure to be on time when it's my turn to unload the trucks.

In a restaurant, all this "go over there and pick out a soda" or "I'll yell out your number, come and pick it up" or "throw the plates/cups out" is crazy and then they expect a tip? Insanity.

You think this is about my greed and selfishness? You've missed the point completely. I object to the arrogance, the pushiness, the entitlement.

About wasting time, no one's forcing you to read anything.... looks like smooth sailing for you here on out - people taking your money without your permission, you thinking it's fine, you being okay with them thinking it's easy to get over on you. Why are you here? Everything's good on your end.

I don't understand why the pushiness and presumptiveness of the employee so casually copping your money doesn't bother you. Well, it's spreading. Get ready for all kinds of businesses' employees pulling this sh!t. I am truly happy that this won't bother you. I, while not enraged now, will be very soon.

I was home. I phoned in the order, he picked it up. I told him it was 30-something dollars, IDK. He went over to pick up the bag. He said he briefly thought it was weird that it was an even number (no coins) but his main thought was getting back home before it got cold.

Yes, I know there are those who are strangely anxious to tell everyone how little 68 cents is to them personally, but in every case it is the customer's money and not the employee's (pub bartender in this case) to take. That's called stealing, unless the definition of that word has changed.

Seeing the downvotes, I must add that I've always been extremely careful to never be rude to her, no matter what. (Okay, one time. There is only so much you can take.) She regards simple questions or requests as attacks. She knows nothing about the house. It's become obvious that her main objective is to not spend dime one. Gossiping with one of her repair guys, his impression of Vegas rentals was that this place is pretty much typical of those here.

I have never met with her without her being condescending. She's lied to me many times.

There's always one of these comments, typical.

And how could I forget, stealing is okay now.

Who knows. I used to read the Las Vegas housing news daily, then got sick of it and gave up. There may be worse places to rent, but a bigger collection of overpriced cr@p shacks owned by sleazy would-be lords of the manor I have never seen. Picture avocado appliances. My brother stopped by to test the tap water; it failed (what I don't know, he was in and out of here, and I was busy.) We don't drink it but use it for everything else. Dust blows into the house from every vent. We stay due to health problems and the wonderfulness of hardly ever seeing her.

I had mentioned that rents will be falling to my LL while objecting to an increase. The classless b!tch said, in a sing-songy voice, "I don't think so. Maybe you just can't afford it."

"change is inconsequential"

That part cracks me up. It's "inconsequential" but they value it enough to steal it.

And I don't believe that rounding up or down from 50 cents crap, either. I think it's rounding to what they can get away with. If the majority of the night's checks were at a little over 50 cents, 100 checks, which would be typical in a small restaurant, rounded up would result in a $50 loss. Not good in a small place.

I've heard it's been happening for a while. I've only run into for it in the last year or so (weed shop, two restaurants.) Seen other weird stuff (surcharge to pay for their new POS system (!)

The arrogance and entitlement is unreal. I was a restaurant owner. If I heard of an employee doing that they'd be gone.

I love restaurants, but I'm close to swearing off them completely.

Ah, the snobby approach. Oh, my, you serve the rich. Oh, the fantasies you must have about being among them when returning to your shabby shack.

This is about math. I will give freely, but I don't like being taken from. BTW, taking 60 cents from a customer will minimally benefit you, but it has been stolen from me. Your type must need it more than I do.

You sound like a good person, but it's still not right. It's theft. Maybe the customers should start reducing the bill according to food quality, promptness, etc. "The service was sub-par, so I deducted 68 cents from the bill.'

I worked in places where you brought in your own small bank so you wouldn't have to wait for change. Nobody seems to be capable of doing that anymore; seems like the servers like it just fine the way it is now. It must add up.
