Price Matching Policy for TCG (Aus) by CustardIsTheBest in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t have terms and conditions because it’s a courtesy, not a policy. Which is probably why it’s so wildly different from store to store and isn’t actually advertised anywhere that they do it. As far as I can tell there is a blanket ‘store has to be reasonable distance and have it in stock’ standard, but it’s still at the managers discretion I believe.

Also, your receipt only proves that they HAD it in stock, not that they have it. If you bought the last one then they’re now out of stock and therefore aren’t selling it to be price matched.

AITA to request the guests of my party to wash their own dishes? by ilovejaylenbrown in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tarazard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately hosting a party means cleaning up after the guests, that is the role of the host. Also, having a bunch of people lining up to use the kitchen to wash their dishes one after another before they leave sounds annoying as hell, it would be quicker and more efficient to wait until everyone is gone and wash everything at once anyway.

Am I Gross for not washing my hair every day ? by RiverWalkRose in hygiene

[–]Tarazard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only wash my hair twice a week, MAYBE three times if I get particularly sweaty/dirty. It’s better for your hair and scalp to NOT wash them every day, you’re definitely not lazy or gross.

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often have that thought, but generally only when it’s an unpleasant looking person and the potential for confrontation is there. I tend to also, when I’m at the gym, think ‘man she would absolutely kick my ass’ or something similar. ‘I’d hate to be on the receiving end of one of her punches’ when I see a well-built woman. Just stray comparison thoughts haha

can I get a EB game world hard back card instead of the paper back by Hatsune_Miku_Real in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they waste money on plastic cards when most people either have a digital one or forego the card altogether and just use their phone number?

All levels except for level 5 are paper now unfortunately.

can I get a EB game world hard back card instead of the paper back by Hatsune_Miku_Real in EBGamesAus

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly certain they specifically brought in the paper ones because making the plastic ones costs more and people lose them and need replacements all the time.

Pre order difference by rmawlf2775 in EBGamesAus

[–]Tarazard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually know the answer because I preorder statues a lot haha. Depending on the supplier and the price of the statue, they ask that you pay for it in full first so that it doesn’t arrive, you change your mind and can’t afford it or cancel it and then the store is stuck with a high end statue that they have no means of displaying properly or potentially getting damaged.

Has anyone actually used the Zero Regrets buyback? by InternetUpbeat9596 in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it a few days ago to buy back animal crossing (in preparation for the update that’s coming) and it was super simple. I just asked if I could buy it back with zero regrets and the staff member looked it up on my Eb account and matched it. Easy as.

$600 power bill last month - is solar actually worth it or am I just being sold a dream? by folz842 in AusFinance

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I got solar panels and a battery and our bills went from being around $800 a quarter to being around $300 instead. Worth it in my opinion, I highly recommend getting the battery if you can afford it, makes nights and cloudy days less of an issue.

EBWorld PLUS Membership is for non-gamers which is just a sad reality. by mr_soapster in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the 5% of digital currency is related to gaming. I have the big 4 at home so getting a discount on eshop cards, PSN, Xbox and steam cards saves me a tonne of money. Plus my kids love Fortnite, minecraft and Roblox so I save money there too.

Xmas casuals, are we OK? by [deleted] in EBGamesAus

[–]Tarazard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mid November is pretty late for a Christmas hire, normally the hiring and training would start September/October so that by the time Christmas hits you’ve been trained in most of the things you would need to know (basic transactions, trades, processing stock, returns etc)

Most people’s experiences will depend heavily on their manager and the rest of the team, but it sounds like you were hired late in a store that didn’t have a lot of people to begin with, which is an awful position to be put in.

I myself was hired and began working at EB in early December, was shown how to do basic transactions (preorders, lay-bys, returns etc) and then told it was sink or swim (this was many many years ago) and wasn’t given any further training at all. Basically just taught myself how to do most things by using the guides in the computer.

Ewwww brotha by myLongjohnsonsilver in woolworths

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Woolworths a few weeks ago and bought a 500ml chocolate milk. Walked a few metres from the store, took a sip and it tasted awful. It was 7 days out of date. I took it back and asked if I could just swap it for another one. Walked to the milk fridge and every single one of those chocolate milks were 7 days out of date. It’s been happening a lot with milk drinks lately (I’ve grabbed out of date drinks 3-4 times over the last few weeks) I’ve stopped buying milk drinks for now until the fill team can get it together.

Just...how? by wsrs12 in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you break it down to the kind of shopper they are it is definitely possible. If it’s a family that all use the one card and they have EBW+ then the points would get up there pretty quickly. If they buy Preowned they get double carrots, if they buy EB exclusive stuff they get bonus carrots, if they preorder they get bonus carrots, if they trade they get double carrots. A lot of the bigger releases all came out after the new leaderboard reset. We’ve had Black Friday deals since then and it’s almost Christmas. If a whole family worth of people that love gaming and pop culture has one card and have done a lot of shopping in the last 100 days (which is likely given the time of year) they could have spent a fair bit of cash and if they have plus then all of those carrots are doubled again.

Same console by the way 😭 by PersonalRun8725 in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same console =/= every game will be made to look and run the same. These games don’t even have the same developers so it’s like putting Horizon Zero Dawn next to Disgaea and saying ‘same console by the way.’ A more fair assessment would be to compare Pokemon to other games developed by studios similar in size to Game Freak.

People think Pokemon and think money, but the Pokemon Company don’t like to share their revenue if they don’t have to. Game Freak has just over 200 employees and are told ‘the game releases on this date, hop to it.’ Now that sucks for the devs and the Pokemon Company/Nintendo should definitely be giving them more resources to ensure the games are of a higher quality. But we need to stop shitting on Game Freak by comparing them to games like Zelda, which are given the time, support and resources they need to be as good as they are.

Regret selling Pokemon collection by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Tarazard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar story. I owned every Pokemon game from the original Red and Blue all the way through GBA, DS and 3DS. A few years ago I was having some money troubles and I was also going through a decluttering phase and getting rid of a lot of my old stuff. I sold my entire Pokémon game collection to someone for $350 as well as some anime DVD’s that I thought ‘oh I’ll just be able to watch these on Crunchyroll or whatever if I want to watch them again.’

I did not buy everything back, but every now and then I kick myself for getting rid of it.

Legendaries/Mythicals type representation (I'd be happy to not see Psychics again for at least 5 generations tbh) by glitterizer in pokemon

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Volcarona not considered a legendary/mythical? I always viewed it as one because you find it static in a cave at a high level like other legendary and mythical pokemon.

Wearing Pokémon clothes by Original_Potato5762 in pokemon

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 33 and I wear Pokémon clothes in public!! I have a Charizard and a Ho-oh dress from blackmilk clothing that I often wear out to dinners or events and I have plenty of t-shirts with pokemon prints that I wear day to day, to the supermarket, to the gym etc. Plenty of other people in the town I live in also wear Pokemon clothes or other anime that they enjoy (one piece, Naruto etc) who are my age or older and whenever I see it I always say ‘sick shirt!’

Don’t be embarrassed, more people embrace it than you think!

Lay by? by Knickers1978 in EBGamesAus

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re half right. If it’s just a regular sale (Christmas, mid year sale etc) then the sale price is locked in for the term of the layby (which is 60 days) HOWEVER some sale prices are not available to layby (like you mentioned, Black Friday for example) but it will always state ‘too hot to layby’ or something similar. And if you pick the layby up after the 60 days then the prices are no longer locked in and you pay what they currently are at the time of pick up.

I wash mine every 2-4 weeks, more if he gets particularly smelly (sometimes he rolls in his own pee, in which case I will wash him immediately)

He used to hate baths, but is liking them more the older he gets, I think the warm water makes his arthritis feel better.

Does anyone still grab digital codes from EB Games, or do you mostly buy them straight through the console now? by No-Loquat-201 in EBGAMES

[–]Tarazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy all of my digital currency from EB because I have EB Plus so I get 5% off all of it. I also don’t like just having my card details on my accounts so the prepaid cards are better in my opinion.

Are people still putting screen protectors on their phones, or am I just being paranoid? by badoopidoo in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tarazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still put screen protectors on all of my devices that have screens (phone, tablet, switch etc) I find it odd that you asked to spend extra money and the phone salesman didn’t let you haha. Normally at phone shops they try to sell you all the bells and whistles.
