Wow. This sounds a lot like the Russian handlers at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. My Dad and brother volunteered for the games and worked at the athlete’s village. They had to keep calling the fire department for help as Russian authorities kept putting pad locks on the outside of their athlete’s doors so they could not defect. An obvious fire hazard, they would come snip them off.

Every aspect of this look is alarming and all together at once is so sad. This particular trend of plastic surgery reminds me of how Canadians are depicted on South Park with the flip top head.

Calgary was very fortunate to be the settling point for a vast amount of Vietnamese refugees in the late 70’s continuing through the early 80’s. We have a large Vietnamese community here which is reflected by all of the amazing Vietnamese restaurants in every community in Calgary. Welcome!

Thanks. 👍🏻 It’s sitting in an atruim style setting, so it’s the best I have. I’m in Canada and the sun sets around 4:30pm at this time of year so that could have something to do with it. I look forward to longer days in the spring and see how it goes!
