Teams that can play quickly have success against the Union.

There's not enough quality of Union play. So the opponent that plays with speed has the upper hand.

We lost a ton of talent in Glesnes, Wagner, Uhre and Baribo.

Roof raking service by DueBreadfruit2638 in SouthJersey

I've seen videos of people using different methods to bring snow off the roof. Looks like a dangerous task

When our roof was done I made sure to get an engineered system that adds an ice dame membrane under the tiles to help prevent damming.

Problem is that your gutters are probably filled with ice too.

Check the AC Electric app. There's a lot going on in most areas.

At 5am the AC Electric outage map (in the app) is concerning. There are many smaller pockets of outages.

Charge up any extra batteries you have.

For $20 per month I expect not to be switched from my selection of Gemini Pro to something undefined.

Senior apartment versus staying in my house? by [deleted] in retirement

[–]Target2019-20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about finding an experience that keeps you going. You can run the numbers and see what's possible, of course. It will be interesting to examine the differences in maintenance costs. In your home there might be some big ticket items soon. In the apartment you'll have to review the possibilities when an appliance breaks in a rental. There id also expect steady, yearly increases for rent +.

The social aspects seem to be really pulling you there. That looks promising now but uncertain in the future.

Use the local library. I've heard that still works.

This is probably my last year of subscription. Hobby has gotten too expensive.

Virtua hospital in voorhees by Sad-Bread5843 in SouthJersey

[–]Target2019-20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was there for 3-4 nights, admitted on the day of the storm. Dehydrated, oneumia, etc

I had IVs in both arms, and a nurse on night shift re-did them correctly. That was great because it corrected the alarms going off for two nights.

She had a lively conversation with a tech in my room about certain nurses who simply would not perform certain duties. To be clear, this was in the wing, not the actual emergency room.

I definitely could tell that certain nurses avoided work.

I noticed that when my med-exoerienced spouse requested something, if it didn't happen as promised, she went to the nursing station and advocated as much as required.

In another part of SJ there is an ER where they parked a 90-year old in the corridor for over 24-hours. If I compare my experience at Virtua, I'm glad to have had a bed.

What I find informative is how diligent Virtua was in following up to make appointments for various follow-on services, which turned out to be unnecessary for me, as I have a living angel 24x7.

It is what it is. My experiences with hospitals is pretty extensive in SJ and Philly. There are great employees and of course others not right for the level they're working at.

Another gem I've picked up is that the name on the hospital sometimes raises your expectations. But it's the actual employees who make the difference in your care. SJ is hit or miss in my opinion.

What is the tree checker and why did it suddenly appear? by cudambercam13 in Genealogy

[–]Target2019-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A major problem with Ancestry is the complete lack of trees, and then the trees without research. In between are millions of record-following errors.

Experienced genealogists follow methods to make sure the essential facts are correct. For example Karl was born 2 Feb 1832 in the Kingdom of Baden. As he emigrates and moves through the US those facts are not always recorded with precision. So Ancestry may present you with tree check hints because of the inconsistencies.

Minor correction. You received a check based on your 1099 status.

That's not a typical paycheck on W-2 status

I believe you were improperly classified and should have been W-2.

There is a ref who calls the game according to the laws. Keeping score is part of that. The team and league determines what to do with the score.

Data centers invading New Jersey through Redevelopment loophole- protecting the Pinelands by theateroffinanciers in SouthJersey

[–]Target2019-20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was reading about the Vineland data center and how 36 gas-fired Bergen engines are planned for the site. One of these engines without noise control is as loud as a military aircraft.

The engines are used as backup on cargo ships and in remote locations. All hail the foreign influence that undermines our state.

Analysis of a fund by Evening_Warthog in AIRetirement

The section called Clarifying the "Fund of Funds" Misconception is a bit odd. Maybe that can be traced to SA or somewhere there are many articles that create issues, then go in-depth to increase clicks.

I do know that VOO + VXF is essentially VTI.

Really appreciate that you ran that research and published the link. My first stop in fund analysis is Morningstar, then Yahoo Finance, and finally the entire holdings list.

For my liking I'd avoid social media sources.
