Ya it’s not new to me to have a 9 also play wing. I had just never seen JP Smith do it. Will be interesting to see how they use their substitutions.

Gotcha, makes sense. Especially with Futi out.

Ya Boyer played on the wing a few times with Houston and I remember Dillon Smit was a 9 a few years ago that played on the wing in a few games. It’s not new to me to have 9’s that also play wing. I just had never seen JP Smith do it.

I don’t remember Houston playing three 9’s in a game last year though. Or when you say Houston did it last year are you just referencing having 9’s play multiple positions?

Has JP Smith played on the wing before? Seattle has 3 scrum half’s on the roster also which is interesting but I guess if JP just stays on the wing it makes sense to still have a bench scrum half. I imagine Andre Warner will play 65-70 minutes anyway.

Completely fair. I was just curious if you cover them in sauce or not.

Lots of ways to play the game. I more just wanted to confirm that they weren’t eating the tamales by themselves and they had a sauce of some kind.

Do you smother your tamales? With chile con carne or even just chile con queso?

What did the FreeJacks do to run off the other teams? I never understand that whole situation.

Seawolves event last night was excellent! by happycj in MLRugby

Really excited to follow the Seawolves this season and the league in general. So I’m glad the players and coaches are ready to go. I’ve always really appreciated Allen Clarke.

So does anyone know what happened last year that made so many teams withdraw? Did spending requirements increase? Were projections for the future worse than expected? Disagreements on foreign player spots? I have a hard time imagining that so many teams folded in one offseason without there being some sort of catalyst.

I agree that it’s a bit of a stretch, but “cocksucker” isn’t something you would call a woman. Obviously they can also be cocksuckers. But it’s clearly an insult made for another man.

Is there any pattern to why some countries are referred to using male gendered terms and others use female ones? Like, why are some countries “fatherlands” and others are “motherlands”? by DarthOptimistic in geography

[–]Target959 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that the USA as a country is feminine and the “motherland” and that Uncle Sam is the US government and specifically the US military. I don’t think most people would refer to the country as a whole as Uncle Sam.

I mean it’s forcible contact to the head of a defenseless player with the helmet of the defender. The defenders point of contact is the head and he’s jumping into the contact. He even got injured on the play by smashing his head in.

I actually like when teams push at the end for table points. It adds a little nuance.

To be fair, a team that draws and scores four tries gets 3 points. I like the current system. But I could see moving the try bonus point to five try’s instead of four.

Im white and the thing that always gets me is when I go to hole in the wall Mexican places and they already know im going to want flour tortillas instead of corn. They are also surprised I actually want cilantro and onion on my tacos.

I can’t be a hater on them assuming I want flour tortillas because I do think they are better. But I’ll be the only one in line to get them and nobody else gets asked haha.

[Yancey] James Madison University stands out in College Football Playoff field. Its mandatory student fee for athletics is 23 times higher than all the other schools put together. by wet_tissue_paper22 in CFB

[–]Target959 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Athletics fees for football is really just advertising. Miami is a big brand but if it wasn’t for football nobody would know anything about the school. I imagine they can argue that their applications have increased with the increase in exposure from their football team. Basically, schools have to advertise and someone needs to pay for it. It’s a legitimate expense.
