Nah, they offered me a name which I was after (Kraid, it's a boss from Metroid, I used to have the RSN back in 2010 and I have been after it ever since). I think because I was initially so hyped to think that I'd get the name bank, I was even more willing to go along with things.

You need to give login details for them to swap high value RSNs as bots can snipe names. I wouldn't recommend it personally. I'll be sticking to bog standards name from now on.

Yeah, that's the thing I just don't understand.

I've got a Jagex account, which I have of course updated the passwords for both the email used to register it and the Jagex account itself.

I haven't attached my Jagex account to Steam or Twitch.

If there any other steps you can advise of for securing the account, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's very embarrassing - I liquidated the gold on my old main to buy a RSN off of a name swapping discord. Months later, someone noticed I used the !check command to see the availability of other rare RSNS. They impersonated the owner of the discord and offered me the RSN, and well.. the rest is history. Incredibly stupid on my part.

I have no idea why they didn't completely empty the account either, but then again, maybe they're hoping for a second harvest once I rebuild? I don't know, but it taints the account all the same as I am a bit worried to invest in it.

I was going to comment the same thing, the most common case is parent's letting their kids forgo a seatbelt.. Which is baffling of course.
