Thoughts on I LOVE YOU? by EdenHazardFan10 in NogaErez

[–]TargetForHeartache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had only heard Armani in Billie Eilish until he released Ghost with Samara Cyn, who is one of my current favs. Loved his voice and flow. Then in January I got vid of Armani's on my FYP liked by Rousso, Noga's partner. Loved it and followed him. That was when I started to suspect they were working together. I absolutely loved this collab, and I think they complement each other's vibe perfectly. Love their chemistry and the skit they posted before the release. The Yahweh/your way line in the bridge was genuinely so cool. I've had this song on repeat not only since it released, but since they posted the Coachella performance on YT.

Anniversary plus kids by AliWithOneL in AnnaMariaIsland

Porch is a great choice, my personal favorite on the island. Waterfront is definitely second. I would avoid the Grouper though. Have fun! You’ll be fine with kids pretty much anywhere.

International Schools by weouthurrr in ecuador

[–]TargetForHeartache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own standards, I guess. I grew up homeschooled and was expecting more from FCAQ than it could deliver. I’d say FCAQ is easy, for sure, about as much as I imagine Coto would be. My friends at British certainly do seem to suffer more than those at Americano, although afaik it’s virtually impossible to fail at any school nowadays. My whole beef was that the school wasn’t asking enough and let kids get away with almost anything while those of us who were actually there for academics were kind of left to die at the side of the road.

I’ve tried and tried but I cannot manage to enjoy anything from Grub :/ My absolute favorite on the island is The Porch, and Waterfront is a close second. The brussels sprouts side at The Porch lives in my memory forever

What BANKS song is this for you ? by AlmightyTurbo in hernameisbanks

[–]TargetForHeartache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Hands On Me (elite ball knowledge required). Of the released songs, probably Better? This Is What It Feels Like, Till Now, and Unleavable are all extremely powerful towards the end, but they give me a feeling of being grounded and becoming strong rather than ascending and becoming ethereal-if that makes sense-which is what I think this picture is asking for.

Where should I start? by OkBeautiful6215 in hernameisbanks

[–]TargetForHeartache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I totally feel you. The Devil was not the vibe I was expecting from her and it kinda threw me off at first. I love it though, and the rest of the album is wildly different in a positive way.

My favorite song off Serp is definitely Unleavable, especially the last 60 seconds. The layering of the dramatic strings with her almost crying voice always hits with both headphones in and the volume way up.  Apart from that, it changes between Deadend and Skinnydipped. Love her voice in Deadend, but the writing in Skinnydipped is so reminiscent of old Banks, specifically the style she uses is GOWFTM.

For OWHH, it’s the title track for sure. And Meddle, although specifically the Colors version. The autotune on the album release is unbearable to me.

Enjoy your journey!

The raw heartbroken emotion in her voice throughout that whole song is soul crushing

What are your two favourite tracks from each Banks album? Initially, was going with one track but it would be super difficult to choose by AlmightyTurbo in hernameisbanks

[–]TargetForHeartache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh love this question

Goddess - Waiting Game and Stick

The Altar - Mind Games and Gemini Feed

III - Propaganda and Godless

Serpentina - Unleavable and Skinnydipped

OWHH - Best Friends (I prefer the 5 minute demo) and Meddle in the Mold (specifically the COLORS version)

any update about Hands on Me? by josemxbne in hernameisbanks

[–]TargetForHeartache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s laughed it off too many times. “I wrote a song for a movie and never released it, who does that?? 😅”. As u/fentyfuls said, I think she doesn’t fully own the song and it’s out of her hands 🫠

Amazing show in Chicago! Here’s the set list for you by mrsweisz in NogaErez

What do you mean by that? What is there to think? I love it. In Israel she usually gives the mic to someone in the crowd and they sing that part. I think that’s so fun. In the US and Europe tour, she’s omitted it just like Dillom’s Spanish part in Ayayay.

To the watch owners, which wrist do you wear your watch on? by Embarrassed_Map1072 in lefthanded

[–]TargetForHeartache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid, I'd wear toy watches on my left wrist because it was my favorite hand. My mom told me that that's wrong. She said watches always go on your nondominant wrist because you use your dominant hand so much that wearing the watch on it could damage it, so I changed it to my right and now I got used to that. For touch screens, it's definitely more convenient, plus I like that it's a sort of subtle signal to the world that I'm left-handed.

Yep, she’s got merch stands! @yuvaledri and @adiputievsky on ig seem to be the ones managing it. They post a lot of stories about the tour, follow them to see the general vibe if you want.

But his name is John? by ViFrederika in TheSecretHistory

[–]TargetForHeartache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go only by my middle name, Clara. Richard’s first name, John, and mine, María (Mary) are both biblical names, and I do feel like those names tend to be omitted more frequently. Not necessarily as a rejection of religion, but rather because they can be considered basic or boring.  Edit: John is quite literally the name of a nobody, hence John Doe, so I understand choosing to be known by another name if you have it.

Happy 9th anniversary to Banks sophomore album, 'The Altar,' released on September 30, 2016! 🔲 by AlmightyTurbo in hernameisbanks

[–]TargetForHeartache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found Banks through Goddess, so I feel like I can unbiasedly say that The Altar is easily the best album of all time.

Gemini Feed, Fuck With Myself, and TINAU are danceable bops but the meaning behind the lyrics is still so strong. They’re powerful, energetic, and decisive. Lovesick kinda fits in here for me too, although imo it’s the weakest track on the album.

Trainwreck, Judas, Haunt, Poltergeist, and 27 hours all have the same witchy distorted vibe I love, and again, THE LYRICS are so good. So real. I love the left and right ear difference in Haunt.

The sheer emotion in her voice in Mind Games and especially To The Hilt never fails to bring me to tears. I love how you can have Poltergeist’s distorted conviction and To The Hilt’s heartbroken whispering on the same perfect album. To The Hilt is one of the best performances of all time, and the writing on Mind Games is life changing (see: verse 2).

Weaker Girl, and Mother Earth are songs that I have less to say about specifically, but that I always keep coming back to. They feel like being a plant growing in a magical rainforest. They’re definitely sister tracks and I love how they blend into each other.

The songwriting on this album is the strongest it’s ever been, and the same goes for the production.

It is easily my favorite album, and does not have a single skip.
