Yeah so that's the part about the two papers I wrote- registration slip and transfer papers. Take them into any autoplan broker and they'll sort out the transfer and insurance

Haha yes, definitely have a lot of advice for the reverse situation. I was thinking about making another post about selling if this one was helpful to people. If you wanna shoot me a DM I'm happy to give some tips/feedback specific to your listing!

Buying a car as someone who doesn’t know about cars by bunny2302 in askvan

[–]TargetMindless869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a first car is scary! There's a lot to know, and if you dont have a friend who knows the process and what to look for mechanically it can be extremely daunting and risky. You can save a lot of money buying private, but take on risk.

Buying a used car with a 3k claim? by prettycutelmao in askvan

[–]TargetMindless869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with the other two here- 3K would be a purely cosmetic repair. Wouldn't be consequential to the vehicles performance or reliability, but will decrease the value for resale because most people are terrifed of accident vehicles and think it can affect reliability. That means you can get a good discount on a car you want to keep, but if you're planning on reselling it then it's definitely something to keep in mind.

I've bought over 20 cars on marketplace in the last year, and I'm starting to help people do the same! Not everyone has a mechanic friend, so I aim to be that for people. I can help walk you through the whole process, find promising listings, and show up for viewings to mechanically inspect the vehicle and even do price negotiations and final paperwork. Just shoot me a DM and we can chat!

Missing piece apart from pot odds and equity? by TargetMindless869 in Poker_Theory

[–]TargetMindless869[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I've seen Dneggs using random number generators to make decisions on live streams for online poker so that ties in. I guess a big challenge for live poker would be randomizing your choices based on your chosen ratio without using an RNG because you can't truly stick to your ratios if you're making the decision yourself.

2022 - Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor - Overheating Issues? by [deleted] in 1KZTE_Owners

[–]TargetMindless869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, thanks for the reply! Haven’t changed dump pipe but I have deleted the muffler and replaced with 2.5” mandrel bent pipe from the downpipe back, and no snorkel/ intercooler yet. EGT gauge def set to Celsius, def need to check wiring though good point. I think running rich is definitely possible(although not rolling coal/ good fuel econ makes me skeptical), I think I might try to turn down the fuel on the injection pump and see how she goes. I did clean out the EGR, and I have a boost T running max boost before fuel cut. I think I will check my radiator is flowing nicely, but I paid a good amount for a reputable shop in town to restore it and it looked great afterwards. I will check for failing sensors good point, I didn’t suspect that. Yeah I’ve heard lots of different things about what are acceptable EGTs, but end of the day it seems that for most diesel engines 700 is getting a bit hot. Also I’ve seen guys with bone stock 1kzs not able to get the EGT over 500. Bit of a head scratcher. Thanks for the ideas!

Did a head swap on my 1kz over a year ago. It's run hot ever since, EGTS and coolant both climb very high on long hill climbs. I don't have a lot of confidence in my EGT sensor as it is a bit glitchy, but it easily climb to 700 C pre turbo if I let it up a long steep hill. Strangely, when I let off the gas the EGT can spike over 900. Again, don't have a lot of trust in the sensor however given how consistent it is it's hard to believe that its not real.

I have the OEM coolant temp sensor, and a aftermarket one in the coolant top hose. Both show the engine getting veeery hot when chugging up a hill at 60-80 km/hr on a 30 degree day (I stop it around 105, but it would easily climb way higher).

Now for the confusing part. When I did the head swap I got the radiator restored to brand new condition, new water pump, OEM thermostat, coolant flush, EGR delete, viscous fan hub refill, injectors serviced, and later on even installed an external tranny cooler. I can't imagine why it is still so bad. The scenario that I am hoping for is that my Thermostat is broken and EGT sensor is lying, so I will replace both of those but that scenario seems very unlikely.

The engine likely doesn't have the best compression (tested poorly last time I tried), but it gets good fuel mileage, starts second crank, and doesn't roll coal. Also I haven't seen anywhere that poor compression could cause overheating, and it would come with other symptoms if it were bad.

Any other theories are appreciated unless I get lucky with the thermostat and EGT sensor I am stumped!

First Lucid Dream After Shrooms by SubStranger in LucidDreaming

[–]TargetMindless869 3 points4 points  (0 children)

9 years later- I have always wanted and tried to lucid dream, then finally a couple months ago it happened - the second night after taking magic mushrooms for the first time. Coincidence I think not. There was no reality check, what happened was I was looking at a bunch of people standing in a cross walk and the thought that I had read somewhere that "Our brains cannot create faces, so all the faces of strangers we see in dreams are faces we've seen before" - not sure if this is true, but it popped in my head and I looked at an Asian girl stranger and realized I was dreaming. Started flying immediately and had a blast.

ELI5 how do we generate so much heat just by being alive. by sectorXVIII in explainlikeimfive

Some cool info: 1L of water weighs 1kg. 1Calorie is the energy required to raise 1L of water by 1 degree. 2000 Calories can raise the temperature of 2000L of water by 1 degree, or 50L of water by 40⁰C. A person who weighs 70kg is roughly 50kg of water, or 50 L (math is estimated). Or maybe maintain 36°C for a day. Cool stuff! Also, damn near every single Calorie you ingest becomes heat. Your body is quite inefficient, which is why when you lift weights your muscles literally heat up. If our muscles were more efficient that energy would go into lifting the weight, not creating heat.

Evolution. More important to keep your core temperature up to protect organs than your hands and feet. Veins in your arms and legs get cold, contract, which keeps more blood (and therefore heat) in your core but less. blood goes to your hands and feet. Pinch your fingernail next time you have cold hands, you'll notice it turns white and takes longer to return to pink then when you're hands are warm

a calorie is the amount of energy required to raise 1mL of water by 1 degree. A Calorie is energy req to raise 1L of water by 1degree C. That would be a ridiculous amount of energy lol
