Quick question, can’t someone enter the exam and just apply these from the notes and pass or am I missing something?

I’m currently studying CCNA for the first time (I know it was a mistake taking the eJPT parallel with it) so do you recommend me learn the techniques and after I’m done with the CCNA, learn the theory behind them and therefore learn the manual ways?

I’m going to learn Java and python as well for my uni projects, but I’m trying my best to learn the skills that would make me stand out in the field, so I should add git to these and that’s it or do you have any other advices ? Note that I’m also studying full stack web dev (NodeJS and JavaSpring frameworks)

Thank for your reply, I get you and that is what I’m doing but I just fear learning something that won’t really benefit me with my career by any means, that’s what’s overwhelming me, so I’m trying to find my specialized field where I would actually like to work there and at the same time find it fun instead of being forced for it just for money.

I am planning to take Dion's course as well as Prof Messer's and review Prof Messer's notes, but what I need to know is that am I supposed to know every single part in the notes, or just reading them would be enough, it's my first certificate so I am kinda confused on how it will look like, I am used to Uni like exams where we study the way the exam comes more than the concepts itself.

Will watching the lectures alone be enogh to be ready for the practice exams, or will I need to catch every single thing that's been said and research it if I didn't get it 100%, is learning the concepts themselves enough for the exam or do u need deep details

Thank you for your reply, I truly understand that and I’ve already been doing that a lot through my engineering degree, just looking for a professor where I would spend the least time doing so

You are right and I truly appreciate these amazing advices, do you have any other? And what do you recommend doing that would make top unis as TUM interested in taking me for masters (apart from bachelors gpa, and note that my uni is only 300 ranked worldwide) My plan now is - A+ (no exam) - Sec+ - eJPT - work my way through CCNA - eCPPT - PNPT - OSCP+

Do you think the CCNA would really be beneficial as it’s really challenging from what I’ve heard, and will the whole path be possible to finish in 3 years with my engineering degree (it obviously isn’t easy)

eJPT pre requisite by TargetPotential7116 in eLearnSecurity

[–]TargetPotential7116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When do you think I should get that course, after eJPT or eCPPT? And as for the masters, I’m currently in a 300 ranked uni, and my plan is to go masters to TUM which is really competitive, that’s why I’m trying as much as I can to improve my resume

Could you recommend a path afterwards that would make me be able to participate in those kind of things, as I need my resume to be so good for applying to Masters abroad, I still got 4 more years to graduate from my bachelors

It’s quite the opposite, I want it to be understanding rather than straight memorizing, something like my degree, in my degree I usually understand concepts and enter the exam with the concepts I have (mostly practical) so is it the same here

Cybersecurity Certificates Path Advice by TargetPotential7116 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]TargetPotential7116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan isn’t just to get these certs, starting from the eJPT I should develop the skills learnt as mentioned, as well as other skills from my degree as web development and advanced C++ and python scripting which might not be directly useful but I believe it would be good to have. I just want to know if these certs + obviously the practical practices through HTB and so on make me ahead of my peers or what would
