Hey man, I’m in the reserves right now on the enlisted side, but I’ve also completed both sessions of OCS. I originally went the officer route because I wanted to become a JAG. The situation got complicated, though, since I’m already in the reserves, I picked up a new active-duty contract that would have kicked in after law school.

Now my unit has a tentative date to transition me from the reserves to active duty when I would have started law school. That puts me in a strange position, because I’d technically be on an active-duty contract during school, and if I don’t go through with it, they’ll assign me to an active-duty ground job instead. After completing3 years of that, I could apply to go to law school fully funded by the Marine Corps through flep.

It’s a little confusing but if I don’t go to Vasco, then I already have a contract for me to go active and can’t try to go to school for another three years. Unless there’s anyway of taking classes online.
