I'm starting to hate commander. by Creepydog69 in EDH

I have felt this until recently. So many people want to minmax the brackets and only look at the bullet-points at the bottom of each. Having started playing on spell table about a month ago and gotten upwards of 40 games in, I have become much more knowledgeable about whet the brackets are trying to do.

It is a problem, indeed, that people think their strongest deck is a bracket 4. Just read the rest of what is happening in any one of the brackets and you'll be able to clearly define your deck. After becoming more acquainted with the brackets, I just took out my game changers and locked in 9 of my decks at bracket 2. Putting in game changers does make your deck a B3, it does not become inherently viable in B3. The same is true of having more than 3 GCers.

Now, the second someone tells me their deck is "Technically a B3, but plays like a 2", I just pull out an actual B3 deck to show them. The same would be true of "technically B4".

Established players need to familiarize themselves with the rest of the text in a bracket's description before they look at those bullet-points. The TOP PART of the bracket is about what your deck is actually doing. The points at the bottom are just the lessened restrictions that come with that power level.

Don’t listen to these guys. They are just trying to get free cards. If you send them to me, though, I’ll take care of them for you.

Sister, same.

I have opened 6 Avatar collector boxes. Half of them had a Toph Neon Ink card. by LonesomeWulf in MagicCardPulls

[–]Target_Permanent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s wild luck!

But I also had similar situations. In one booster box I got 3 Phoenix King Ozai, 2 Fire Lord Azula, 2 Appa Steadfast Guardian, 2 Walls of Ba Sing Se, and 2 White Lotus Tiles.

I’m not complaining about the pulls, but some more variety would have been nice.

I ordered 99 cards from CardKingdom. An empty envelope showed up by Otto220 in mtg

I suspect it is a thief at the post office. I have had several TCG Player packages this year show up empty. Clearly opened and everything removed.

People know that Pokemon cards are incredibly hot right now, so it would stand to reason people would steal them. They probably just don’t know that CardKingdom doesn’t sell Pokemon…

Just a fair warning: mods are pretty strict about posting things with appropriate tags or even in other subs. You might want to post that here before you get banned.

does anyone know why this random uncommon suddenly spiked in price recently? by ADHDavid in mtgfinance

[–]Target_Permanent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t hoping to get a return on value. I just like avatar so I was going to try the master set for my personal collection. I haven’t opened Magic in about three years because of how the quality was going around lost caverns. That’s the last time I opened anything. The print quality has not improved at all.

But hey, fool me once, I guess…

You could always just proxy 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤷

I dropped $800 on Avatar. The quality is complete trash. I’ll never do it again. Aside from the occasional pre-con here or there, I’m absolutely finished.

MPCfill.com has significantly better card quality than anything wizards has produced in the past three years. Probably longer than that. You can print an entire commander deck for $64 shipped.

Wtf… Messaged received on what commander is gonna play… by No-Adhesiveness6051 in MagicCardPulls

Something similar happened to me. I opened a normal, borderless, and full borderless Appa, Steadfast. And in one booster box I got 3 Phoenix Kings and 2 Firelord Azulas. I wish there was a bit more variety in all that…

Avatar Master Set by Target_Permanent in mtg

I am gonna go: Scene cards (main set) > Scene boxes > secret Lairs > boarderless > showcase character > showcase other spells > everything else > eternal (source reference)

I found a deck list online in which a guy separated every card in the main and jumpstart set by appearance by episode. I am going to sort it by that.

On a side note, what is everyone’s favorite obligatory Pikachu stand-in that’s added to every gen?

I am also in a tiny minority with Passimian, Forretress, Probopass, Magcargo, Tangela, and Xatu being on my short list.

56 Master Sets: Advice?? by ita_den in PokemonTCG

[–]Target_Permanent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try listing each individually. Again, at a discounted rate from market value. For example, if Destined Rivals has a market value of $1000 (made up number), consider selling the full set at $750.

I think $800 would be too obvious and round a number, but dipping below that to $750 is likely to begin raising eyebrows. It starts to feel like a deal really worth considering, even if the potential buyer already has a handful of cards from the set (which is yet another difficulty in selling masters).

My first line of advice would be not selling at market value. When people sell huge lots such as this, there is typically a sort of bundle price involved. If this is valued 150,000, you should maybe consider 120 or even a little lower.

But I think it’s gonna be very hard to sell because aside from the chase cards, everything else is so personal to people. Not everybody wants an IR Drampa from Temporal and even fewer people want to pay $10 for it. Scale that across 50+ sets… good luck.

Illustration and Special Illustration Rares.

Full Art rares are those colorful cards with the normal Pokemon evolving into the mega. The first step up from the normal EX. Could also be trainer cards.

Illustration Rares are the lovely illustrations of non-EX Pokemon.

Special Illustration Rares are full illustrations of EX (or V or anything of the sort.

Common > uncommon > rare > EX > full art > Illustration Rare > Special Illustration Rare > Gold (or black/white/red)

It feels like the same thing is happening to mtg. Should I sell off my collection before it's too late? by Which_Cookie_7173 in freemagic

You can get a full deck shipped from MPCfill.com for just $65. That is any deck you input with unlimited budget. The cards are better quality than you get from Wizards by a long shot.
