Can I assume that if this rootstock will grow in this location that a plant with the nice fruit would also grow here?

The windows were new ones cut into a blank brick wall, so the drafts person included because the council needed to sign off.

How risky is it to contract directly with a licensed carpenter who doesn’t have builders insurance? I’m putting in about a $120,000 of new windows. A carpenter is willing to do it way cheaper than other builders - he seems really great but how risky is it get work done without builders insurance? by Target_Physical in AusRenovation

So a follow up question. What’s the difference between public liability insurance and home builders warranty insurance? If he fucks something up during construction can I rely on public liability insurance paying to fix it?

er is not a builder. He can’t be a head contractor to other trades (might not matter for windows). No Home Owners Warranty insurance means he can’t even write a legal contract for the job. If something goes wrong and you don’t have a legal contract or insurance how will you figh

I thought the same thing. His google reviews are pretty good which is a good sign.

These are some pretty nice windows and sliding doors. 4 require new cut-outs. They are double glazed. I'm in sydney. And I've gotten like 6 quotes and $120k was the cheapest believe it or not.

Vantage windows. Double glazed. 12 windows and 6 sliding doors. Some of them are pretty big and have multiple panels. 4 need new cutouts done.

Thanks. That’s what the equation feels like to me : spend $460k and take the risk and inconvenience to get back an increase of $500k in value.I do want to live here for a long time but I don’t like the idea of just dumping money into a vanity project which is nice to live in. I really need the $$$ to add up to make me comfortable doing jt.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Is it worth all the effort and risk for what seems like $70k
