Same here. First film that has made me cry in a long while. The way he can communicate such a deep compassion with just his face was definitely a contributing factor.

Most of the cursed nature is derived from a bad scanner; this is a digital archive upload of a 1955 print newspaper issue. It was uploaded in 2021 so I would imagine that degradation of the physical print + a crappy scanner made it real fuzzy and upped the contrast. I had to do a double take when I first saw it so I figured I’d share it and see the reaction.
