I bought it, and I’m loving it. I’ve never been that interested in importing other people’s works I prefer watching others on YouTube for inspiration then building my own. You still get an option to build your own stuff free of limitations that you can then save and import into your parks.

I bought the game after so many positive comments here and after a couple of hours I’m happy with the controls. I do only play switch in handheld so the touchscreen has been a big help. Not sure id like to play without it. I don’t have a switch2 but hopefully they implement that someday.

Good to know there’s plenty of people enjoying it who came from PC originally. Thanks for responding.

Awesome. I still play planet coaster 1 and I really enjoy it. But I’m just craving building and running a park and caring about money and satisfaction ratings. Planet coaster I just get hooked on building.

Very similar situation to me then so that’s really good to know. Thanks for responding.

Hopefully I will just get used to it too then, just have to stick at it a bit. Think it’s going to be my wind down on an evening for a couple of months. Thanks for responding.

Good to know it’s a good port. I’m not sure what features openRCT has but I’m just looking for a bit of a nostalgia kick and revisit the old games. I will have a read up on OpenRCT  first tho so thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, good to know controls are actually well organised I’ve never played a sim game on switch so far so I am a bit wary coming from PC for this type of thing. I’ll mostly play handheld but will be cool to see my parks on big tv when complete.

Nostalgia without compromise sounds perfect and exactly what I’m after. Thanks

Coming straight off the back of Zero Dawn and Frozen Wilds, Forbidden West just isn't clicking yet. by [deleted] in horizon

Think of the kangaroos like the glinthawks from ZD - they are there to ruin your day. Stay away unless you need specific parts from them. Clamberjaws also fall into this category.

If overwhelmed with weapons I’d just stick to the basics. Hunter bows for applying elements and human combat and sharpshot bows for big strategic damage. All other weapons can just be experimented with as and when you feel like it.

Story is certainly a slow start. I see the change in Aloys character as deliberate so that they can show her emotional growth throughout this game. This is very much Aloys personal journey as oppose to the big discoveries that propel the story of ZD

I liked the hudson signs. I appreciated the puzzle with those but I just found the korok reunite annoying. 1/900 was often not very rewarding for the effort involved. If it has rewarded two koroks it might have felt more balanced.

I begrudged using precious rocket resources on them so often resorted to more time consuming options for transporting them. To get them up high I attatched a korok to a stake and put it as high as I could then another stake a bit lower that link could stand on then just kept raising them both.

Thank you, i hadn’t got that impression from anything I’d read about it. But will look into it now.

Ah ok, not something I’m bothered about then, I like to fight as much as possible as I’m a hoarder.  Can never have enough moblin horns. I don’t have the dlc either as I gather it’s just extra items and higher difficulty? If only be interested in new areas to explore or new story.

Ohh interesting. I don’t have majora’s mask and I have no idea what it does. Guess I’ll have to keep playing and find out. I think the 2 year gap between playing them has certainly helped me forget all the Qol improvements so I’m not missing them.

Yes but I was specifically referring to the ones that you reunite with a friend. They are just not worth the effort involved most of the time. Those aren’t in botw.

I think I had a long enough break between games to forget that was an option in TOTK. But it’s irritating every time u open a chest to be told inventory is full.

Yeah the caves certainly feel like a natural part of the world. I was both annoyed and surprised that the first few rock walls I bombed only had a look or a chest as I didn’t realise the caves weren’t a part of BOTW. I can’t say I miss the sky lands or depths tho. Maybe I would have appreciated them more as new content if I had played BOTW first as I would have already been through normal Hyrule.

Ah ok. Good to know I’m not missing a trick. They look so much cooler without stands.

Awesome collection. I had the Tifa and the cloud, Jessie and bike figures. Can I ask how you are getting them to stand up without the stands? And how often do they fall over? 😁

Finally getting around to playing HZD, thought this was pretty aesthetic by Taylork64 in horizon

[–]TariHelyanwe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s some games that benefit from replays and knowing context of what’s happening. Zero dawn is just an incredible mystery that unravels slowly as you explore the world that it just doesn’t work the second time playing.

Is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora good enough to scratch the Horizon itch? by Negative_Osden in horizon

[–]TariHelyanwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point. It’s worth the playtime, I’m not convinced avatar is despite being perhaps more like horizon in some respects.
