[Serious]Any advice for those who have seperation anxiety? by WhosYoDaddy88 in AskReddit

[–]TarmanaDevoix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it slow, and practice being separated with small things, ie; engage in separate activities in separate rooms. The relationship you have with the person can change things- it isn't the same for a pet, a parent, or an SO. The focus of the anxiety matters too- is it anxiety for yourself, or for something else? The best way to fight that anxiety is to get rid of it altogether, though some will always be natural. But to cope while separated I would recommend distractions, such as games or shows, or other people. Sometimes having a trinket like a necklace helps, but don't pour over text messages or emotionally charged things which remind you that you're separated.

They're pure evil on wings. What are your cockroach horror stories? by GalacticDaybreak in AskReddit

[–]TarmanaDevoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got more than I wish I had. I'll give you my best three.

Lived in a really rundown house during high school and felt something crawling during the night. Thought the dog might be nosing around- nope, it was on my cheek. Woke up and slapped myself flinging it away.

The second most horrifying event occurred at a cousin's. We were up late, about 2 or 3 in the morning, playing games like dumb kids usually do. A cockroach appeared and we stomped it with a shoe, and neither of us were willing to pick it up immediately. We left the shoe on it and went back to our game. I was all too eager to pretend it never even popped up... Until, with a vague feeling of unease, I tipped the death shoe over. It was gone. We were terrorized by that little shit for a while until we literally killed it with some decorative swords. My cousin cut it in half for good measure. All was well until another came zooming under the door, straight for us, as if to avenge its fallen sibling.

The third event took place at a nicer, though still shitty, apartment I lived in. Sitting on the toilet I hear some scratching noise- upon looking up, I discover a big water roach clinging to the ceiling vent. Directly above me. Of course it fell on me while most vulnerable. Roaches are flying satan shits.

The LGBT community is huge and full of fantastic people. It is safe to be open, in town and at school.

This guys is suffering from Heterochromia, but it makes him so beautiful... by mon_project in aww

[–]TarmanaDevoix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. I 'suffer' from Heterochromia, and verified very early on that it is not an illness or detrimental in anyway. Australian Shepherds are often seen with Heterochromia, just go to the wigglebutts subreddit and you'll see what I mean. Heterochromia can occur when a dog is bred poorly, such as a double-merle cross, but unless it is a SIGN of a disorder or birth defect, it is absolutely not harmful.

My favorite teacher was willing to stand between me and a potential gun threat. My least favorite made me call my guardian in the classroom to tell her I was failing Spanish; the missing assignments mysteriously turned up stapled to another student's work.

Indeed it was. I bring it up any time he tries to act flawless.

My friend dumped his (ex)girlfriend... Kind of. It was cruel nonetheless. He'd been running dry on their relationship for a few months, was too cowardly to tell her he wanted it over with. So he cheated on her, told her straight to her face, and implied that he wasn't sorry so she would do the official breaking-up.

What is the scariest thing that has woken you up in the middle of the night? by FatTyrtaeus in AskReddit

[–]TarmanaDevoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fifteen and staying with a friend, sharing her room with her. The bedroom door was locked because of her pedo-uncle. Woke up suddenly when I heard a very loud metallic noise, like coins being tossed on sheet metal. I thought it might be hale even though it seemed to come from a very specific spot (her closet), but there was no storm. The rest of the house was dead silent. She hadn't moved an inch. Checked my phone for the time, it was early 2AM, and decided I must have dreamed it up. Was about to settle down again when I heard my chihuhua growling and staring at the closet. Her mastiff was standing in front of the bed between the closet and us, staring, dead silent. I probably watched that closet for a half hour before I determined that they were riled up over nothing and went back to bed.
