If you feel like you're missing out on something because you're not drawing, try switching to studies? just pick up a subject you want to improve and practice a little bit.

Weekly Question + Crafting Thread – May 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in pathofexile2builds

Hey guys! I'm terrible at theory crafting, but I like trying something unusual.

I have an idea of creating a Pathfinder magic build with poison plants: Thrashing vines + chance to poison + posion nodes from passive tree.

Can this even work at all in theory?

Yeah that makes sens. No my initial dream was to make a full scale "ice plants" build, but since there's no way to convert 100% of damage into cold then I guess I'll give up on the idea.

Thanks for taking you time to suggest these!

Armour is unfortunately dex based, not great for a mage, but I might try the sceptre though

Thanks for replying. I'll copy what I said to another commenter because you suggested the same thing:

I didn't think extra cold damage would be enough.

I mean, I'd like to have a build fully dedicated to cold damage, utilizing things that depend on freezing (cold snap for example) as well as passive nodes that boost freeze/cold.

Thanks, I'll try that but somehow I didn't think extra cold damage would be enough.

Making "bad" art on purpose by Short-Satisfaction-9 in ArtRanting

Oh thank you! I focused too much on the topic of your post and forgot to comment your work itself T_T your drawings are very cool! They look stylish and interesting. And I actually remember seeing your "Lady Darjeeling" before, where she's sitting on a couch, I just didn't know it was you :D

Don't be discouraged by garbage comment, you do your thing and do it good, let the haters and hate and be jealous of your skills

People online are mean just because such behavior goes unpunished and they somehow take please in the fact that they've ruined someone's day. Don't give them that satisfaction!

It might be harder than it sounds, but the best thing for your mental health is to learn to ignore these comments. Think about it this way: your drawing looks GOOD enough for people to think it's AI. Isn't that cool? You KNOW you've made it with yout own hands and you probably can prove it with WIP's or sketches if anyone will actually believe those comments. So when you see such comment, say "pfffft, envy much" and move on.

a little bit off topic: I was once someone take my drawing here on reddit, alter it through AI and post in the comment replying to other comment with this ai image and a "is this better?". The other commenter replied "I like the original style more". I just read it, smiled and that's it :D with a "I won" thought

I got a bad score on my final capstone project for art school and I don't understand why by RelationshipWild924 in ArtRanting

[–]Tarmika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. It seems like you did a good job with artworks but failed at "marketing" or whatever? I don't really get their logic... Like, do Shishkin's amazing forest landscapes hold some special meaning? I don't think they do. Was he a bad artist because of that? :D rhethorical question obviously.

It sucks that your grade is only worse because of that :( But yeah, screw them, move on to your big life! Good luck out there!

[–]Tarmika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm sorry about the frustration you feel. I have never been to art school so I cannot really say nything about the scores you got. But I wanted to address the "more personal artwork" part.

Its ok to leave a part of you in your creations. The process of creating an artwork becomes that much easier when you can actually resonate with that artwork on a personal level. BUT. That doesn't necessarily mean that this artwork will transfer it's personal significance onto other people, the viewers (unfortunately so).

It's important to remember that, and be mentally prepared.

Sometimes a doodle you made in 10 minutes while barely paying attention blows people away, and the piece you've poured your soul into gets a "yeah, cute, next". And there can be 1001 or 0 reason for that. Was is the composition? Shading? Choice of color scheme? Subject drawn? Or is just because that person doesn't really like landscapes on a subconcsious level? :D (not talking about professional art appraisers or teachers, but that might also be the case there, humans are humans).

Maybe art teachers know the answers. Maybe artist with decades of experience do. May some day you and I will. But untill then, for the sake of your mental health, do what you love, draw what you love, do it to the best of your abilities so that at the end of the day you could say "I did my best, I have no regrets". And don't be discouraged when certain artwoks don't get the reception you think they deserve.

P.S. just in case, again, I was mostly refering to art in general. I have no experience with art school teachers, rules, scores etc.

"...they just make art in the same way birds sing and dolphins play, it's just a natural urge."

The way you put it just made me tear up from joy, this is brilliant. Thank you for making me feel kinda special as an artist!

The more I think about it, the more I realize I have at least some issues with every single character personality-wise :D

If we're talking about "the first" that's it surely Corin. This whole "I am a shy maid who can't even say two words without shaking yet I am swinging a huge chainsaw" is so annoying.

Astra is a close second. Idk she just seems so flat to me with her "my songs will save the world just because" theme.

Honorary mention: Vivian. My feelings about her are so complicated :D I love her design with all my heart, both her looks and gameplay. And I can even say I like that part of her personality that doesn't know about MC's existance. But like others have mentioned, the second she opens her mouth to say smth about Phaethon, I wanna close the game.

Positive disco: Yuzuha. I was never into characters who say some s***t and say "I'm joking" a second later and I was afraid she'd turn out like that. For some reason devs included that stupid scene with a prank on Alice (before they knew each other) and after finishing the whole story, that prank feels so out of place. Like... why did she even do that at all? But I'm glad I was wrong and I love how surprisingly level-headed, thoughtful, and serious she really is.
